With the Eskaijiani Civil War entering it's third week, the Eskaijiani Borneo Army, now with renewed strength from their allies, Atlantea, The New Uma Order, Madridiyan volunteers and the Antarctic Union begin assaulting Eskaijiani government positions who also recieved aid from Starcon, The Empire of Jansan and Anakinnovia and had well fortified positions forced the Borneo army to switch strategies. With the battles on the plains now approaching the urban sprawls of West and Central Eskaijian, the Borneo army had began using hit and run tactic to force the government forces to always be on alert, burning out men. The main focus for today's project is the siege of Vistula Gol, a western city which provides Eskaijian with it's industry and military with it's many factories and surrounding industrial oblasts/districts. The Eskaijiani Rebels were spotted entering the city from the old city on the 28th of June. During the fighting in old city, many of the sector's buildings which were mosty soviet era to 21st century Russian buildings were destroyed by constant bombardment from Rebel artillery positions along the hills around Vistula Gol. The 34th Borneos and the 56th Borneos were then deployed to attack downtown with NUO lend-lease tanks such as the ST "Vega" series tanks and the DV "Juno" series aircraft bombarded and ambushed Eskaijiani troops randomly, only to disappear into the city's ruins. The Eskaijianis however, are unfazed and pressed their own attacks where close quarters combat often occured in Old City between Eskaijiani government troops and Bornean rebels where heinous crimes were committed, both civil and convention. Soldiers often did disgusting things to each other and often liked to torture POWs such as tying them into stress stances, causing pain and suffering as well as waterboardings were common.The Eskaijianis eventually lost control of old city but managed to still hold out from downtown and captured many rebels lingering in downtown who were cut from the main force. Many were massacred and executed on the spot while the luckier ones were deported to POW camps which were slightly less cruel than the frontlines. After being repelled from Downtown, the rebels began a tank and air assault on the section, causing major fires and havoc in the area. When the boots on ground were redeployed, they were faced with heavy resistamce from Eskaijiani forces whom were using urban/guerrilla warfare to destroy tanks, attack patrol squads and used drones to destroy tanks. The rebels gnawed at this sector until advances into the industrial sector forced Eskaijiani soldiers to divert troops there, allowing the rebels to exploit this vulnerable time to attack once more, finally capturing downtown with a pyrrhic victory.
*note: Eskaijiani Borneo Rebels aren't from Borneo, they are a task force who participated in the Borneo intervention who eventually lost faith in their nation and revolted as a result of the Starrian wars.
