Chapter Two: The Happiest Day Tommy sat in the backseat of the car, staring out the window as cookie cutter houses, ominous, tall trees, and beautifully cut grass flew by outside the car. Tommy’s mom and dad had gone to get the car fixed and would join Tommy and his gang at Freddy’s later. Jake and Jessica sat in the front seat chatting about how great this experience was going to be. “How are you doing back there Tommy? You better not explode in my car…” Jake joked. “I would never explode, at least not while Sam isn’t here,” Tommy retorted. Jake chuckled as they pulled into the driveway of Tommy’s best friend, Sam. Nobody even had to leave the car. Sam swung the door open and dashed outside with his backpack bouncing on his back, his mother lovingly watching him leave from the front door. Sam burst into the car and flung his backpack to the floor. He was too out of breath to even say anything, which was rare. Just as Jake began to pull away from Sam’s house, Sam’s mom came running at their car and shouting. Jake rolled down the window next to Sam to let his mother speak. Tommy barely made out what she said. “Be careful there Sam, stick with Tommy at ALL times, don’t ever leave him, okay? I just…that Fredbears place…just be careful.” Sam’s mom kissed him on the cheek and dashed back into the house. Jake rolled up the window and drove away. Tommy didn’t ask Sam about anything. The car engine hummed as they zoomed down the road, passing cars who were also making their way to Freddy’s. The drive was short anyway so there wasn’t need for much words. Jake pulled the car into the parking lot of Freddy’s and began searching for a parking spot. The building was brand new, the brick walls glistened and the windows reflected the light of the sun. A huge sign sat above the doors that depicted Freddy waving and the building name below him, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. “It looks glorious…” Sam marvelled. “I mean, glorious is a strong word, but yeah, it’s amazing,” Tommy responded. Finally, Jake found a parking spot and slid in, stopping the car and putting it in park. Tommy and Sam swung the door open and shot out of the car. “Hold up guys, I’m the adult here until my parents arrive, so you do not leave my sight. Ok?” Jessica said as she swung her purse around her shoulder. “Ok…” Tommy mumbled. Jake and Jessica led the way towards the main entrance and the glistening see through doors. They were a little late so they rushed into the main doors and the loud sound of kids filled the air. It was almost deafening, all the little kids screaming and shouting at their little party tables. Tommy, Sam, Jessica, and Jake luckily had a table reserved so they headed towards their empty table and sat down. Tommy was next to Sam and in front of Jessica. In front of them were purple curtains covering up the animatronics and a little to the left of the stage was a mini stage that also had purple curtains. A large room next to the mini stage was filled with arcade games and had a ball pit. Just as they sat down, a sickly man pushed past the curtains and onto the stage. He was horribly skinny, but for some weird reason he didn’t look weak. “Welcome everyone, to the grand opening of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. My name is William Afton, I run all the boring business stuff around here. I hope you enjoy your time here very, very much. Just one more thing before I introduce my partner. A special guest walks these halls, a yellow rabbit with balloons. If you catch him you’ll earn yourself a free balloon. Good luck!” His voice was raspy and screechy, it gave Tommy goosebumps. Afton disappeared behind the curtains and another man replaced him. This man looked much more healthy and yet, he looked so much more sad. “I know you all are desperate to have fun, but there are a few things I need to go over first. My name is Henry Emily. I am the creator of all the wonderful animatronics you are about to see. I hate to bring this up but I am required by law to share it once again. Me and Afton’s last pizzeria had an unfortunate accident that killed a man’s beloved son. As the unfortunate creator of the animatronic that did that dirty deed I am here to inform you that nobody is to get anywhere near any animatronics. No child is allowed on stage. This is just to keep your children safe, I hope you understand.” Henry ended and walked behind the stage. Tommy was getting quite bored of all this chatter but it seemed pretty important. Suddenly, a loud clanging came from behind the stage, it sounded like someone was fighting. “I know you did it!” Somebody screamed. “Uh, what the heck is going on?” Tommy asked. Before anyone could answer, William Afton walked back out, looking exactly the same. “Sorry about that. Let the fun begin!” He shouted as the curtains drew back and revealed three animatronics. Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy Fazbear himself.
