I’m gonna start combining their lore posts with the refs that seems like a good idea Ok!! Mel is 19 in the first full bodies (when she joins the cult) and the second (the end of the cult) but the epilogue takes place 3ish years after so she would be 22 :)) She has the calmest life out of all of them lol she was born in California but moved to West Virginia ehen she was younger, she has 4 sisters, she’s trans mtf and was able to transition young (which causes mars to be extremely jealous later on) she has a good home life but her parents force her to be in multiple sports because she hasn’t found one she likes which is kinda rough but not crazy. She works at Yummiez (a burger chain) with her best friend mars and her real passion is paranormal investigation. When they get the invite to the cult via a bird coming through Mars’ window, they think it was directed towards him (really it was meant for her) but she comes anyway to check it out because she thinks it was the aliens contacting them In the cult, Mel starts to prove to be a better leader than Nat, which angers her. The rest of the cult all start to accept her decisions over Nat’s which is also a problem because Nat has been trying to intentionally sabotage them and Mel starts encouraging them to stand up for themselves. Once they abandon Ruben and need a new second in command, Nat allows her to take his place carrying the bags and weapons, Mel is very quickly hit by a boulder in the leg that came down the mountain, (A bad omen from god to turn around) breaking her leg, and forcing them to give the power to Mars who is the only person who can carry it. This is when Nat reveals in a rage that Mel was supposed to be the one they brought from Earth, not Nick and Mars, and that that’s why she thinks their mission is cursed. They get in a huge argument about it, and Nat realizes that her power over others is gone. In the epilogue, she comes home and tells her parents about everything and they see this as a sign to let her paranormally investigate. She goes to university in the cult’s dimension. She still talks to the rest of them every now and then, but isn’t as close as she was. She has a girlfriend named Sydney on Earth and they are doing well.
