── ⋅ ── Territory + Map The four clans each call vastly different corners of Eldritch home. Over countless generations, the land has shaped not only their appearance, but their traditions, hunting styles, and way of life. While borders separate them now, each territory is considered a sacred gift entrusted to its clan by one of the Four. ── ⋅ ── Highclan *The Sunbluffs* The Sunbluffs are the highest reaches of Eldritche, where endless rolling plateaus stretch toward the horizon before giving way to towering cliffs that overlook the forests far below. Waist-high grasses ripple constantly beneath an open sky, creating the illusion of green waves rolling across the land. The wind is never truly still here. It whistles through rocky ledges, races across the cliffs, and carries scents for remarkable distances. Trees are scarce, leaving little shelter from the elements and forcing every cat to master balance, speed, and sure-footed movement. Because the landscape changes very little, Highclan is the most nomadic of the four. Their camps consist of woven grass dens and simple structures that can be dismantled and rebuilt within days, allowing them to relocate whenever prey becomes scarce or the seasons demand it. Their camps remain almost entirely open to the sky, reflecting their belief that no roof should stand between a warrior and the winds of Zephros. The Sunbluffs are home to swift rabbits, hares, mountain birds, voles, kestrels, hawks, and cliff-dwelling prey. Narrow ledges, sudden drops, hidden ravines, and unpredictable gusts make every patrol dangerous for inexperienced cats. During powerful storms, the cliffs become especially treacherous, and thick fog can swallow entire sections of the plateau. ── ⋅ ── Deltaclan *The Silver Basin* The Silver Basin is a sprawling network of winding rivers, flooded marshes, willow groves, hidden lagoons, and quiet pools where mist lingers long after sunrise. Countless streams divide the land into small islands, making water an unavoidable part of everyday life. Nearly every trail requires swimming, balancing across logs, or crossing carefully woven reed bridges known only to Deltaclan. The clan's camp rests upon a cluster of interconnected islands hidden within the wetlands. Stepping stones, floating logs, and woven reed walkways connect each section of camp, while dens are built slightly above the waterline to withstand seasonal flooding. Every corner of camp reflects the river's beauty, decorated with polished shells, driftwood, pearls, smooth stones, reeds, and treasures collected from the shoreline. The Silver Basin teems with fish, frogs, waterfowl, turtles, crayfish, and countless aquatic creatures. During heavy rainfall, the rivers often burst their banks, flooding familiar paths and creating entirely new waterways overnight. What appears to be solid ground may quickly become deep mud or hidden water, making navigation difficult for outsiders.
── ⋅ ── Groveclan *The Deepwood* The Deepwood is one of the oldest surviving forests in all of Eldritch. Dense woodland climbs over weathered hills, enormous stone outcroppings, forgotten ruins, and sprawling cave systems hidden beneath tangled roots. Thick moss blankets nearly every surface, softening ancient boulders and fallen trees alike. Even after rain has ended, the forest remains cool, damp, and rich with the scent of earth and growing things. Rather than building upon the land, Groveclan has spent generations becoming part of it. Their camp exists within a network of ancient caves that have been carefully expanded using their Blessings. Living roots reinforce ceilings, moss softens walls, and shaped stone forms permanent dens that have housed countless generations. Giant mushrooms serve as natural stairways and platforms, while most warriors sleep communally within the warmth and shelter of the cavern floor. Throughout camp stand carved stones recording important events, great leaders, and ancient victories. Bones, antlers, crystals, fossils, shed snake skins, preserved flowers, and unusual plants are carefully displayed, each carrying its own story. The Deepwood is home to deer, squirrels, mice, birds, foxes, badgers, insects, and countless hidden burrows. Beneath the peaceful forest lies an intricate maze of caves and tunnels known almost exclusively to Groveclan. ── ⋅ ── Ashclan *Blackroot Forest* Blackroot Forest bears the scars of countless ancient wildfires. Charred pine trunks stand beside flourishing undergrowth, while rich ash-filled soil gives rise to vibrant new life. Steam rises from rocky outcrops threaded with volcanic stone, filling the forest with a constant warmth and the faint scent of smoke. Though the land appears harsh, it is remarkably alive, proving that destruction and renewal exist side by side. Fresh water is limited, making every spring and stream deeply valued. The clan carefully protects these scarce resources, treating them with the same reverence other clans reserve for sacred landmarks. Even the air feels different here. Dry, heavy, and warmed by the earth beneath every pawstep. Ashclan's camp lies among towering burned pines, where enormous fallen trunks, twisted roots, and volcanic rock create sturdy natural dens. Blackened bark, hardened resin, obsidian, lava stone, scorched pinecones, and carved wood decorate every corner of camp. Warriors often paint subtle markings onto their fur using their charcoal paws and clay, wearing the land itself as a symbol of pride. Blackroot Forest supports hardy prey adapted to the heat, including rabbits, mice, snakes, lizards, birds, and resilient woodland creatures that flourish in the recovering forest. Though wildfires occasionally return, Ashclan views them not as disasters, but as reminders of Vaeryn's greatest lesson: every ending leaves room for something new.
