I've been having dreams of this made up game for several nights in a row. Eventually, I gave in and drew cover art of the game based on what I remembered from it. While we're here, I might as well tell you about it from my memory. The game itself is a sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom, with the developers Heavy Iron Studios returning, along with Radical Entertainment (the devs of The Simpsons: Hit & Run). I also imagined that the game would have been released for the 6th gen console generation (PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube) along with a fully fledged PC port. Enough about the boring stuff. Now comes stuff about the actual game. Story: Mysterious portals to other universes have been appearing all over Bikini Bottom overnight. Not only that, but the dastardly, evil, retched, horrid and horrible person behind this also caused lots of destruction, destroying government buildings, houses, pipes, water sources, and all sorts of other stuff. Eventually, the next day comes and the locals find all of the mayhem that has happened. If things couldn't get any worse, the portals started creating paradoxes and slowly started destroying the space-time continuum. The citizens started suspecting that Plankton was the one behind all this, but at the time, he was on vacation, so he was in the clear. Since the citizens were too gobsmacked and terrified to do anything about it, it was up to SpongeBob to save not only the town, but the universe as we know it. Since he couldn't possibly do this alone, he realized that he could recruit people from the other universes. And so, he started getting another gruesome, tiring, and back-breaking journey. Gameplay: There are two main game modes: platforming and driving. Platforming plays almost exactly the same as the original BFBB, while driving plays almost like GTA, except you can't get out of the car. The two people SpongeBob recruits are Homer Simpson and Wario. However, you need to do them a favor before they join you. For Homer, you have to go to Springfield and find 32 donuts scattered around the town. For Wario, you simply have to pay him 1,000 Shiny Objects. There are a total of 16 levels, with 8 Golden Spatulas to collect in each. In every level, you can switch between playing as SpongeBob, Homer, or Wario when finding a Port-O-John. Upon entering, you can select who you want to play as. When selecting the character you choose will step out of the Port-O-John and you resume playing. In every world, you need to collect 6 spatulas before you can fight the boss of that world. Each boss will act completely different, like having a car, chasing you nonstop, or mimicking your attacks. Upon defeating a boss, you get another Golden Spatula and get a collectible that is used to power the Master Portal, which we'll get to later. Character abilities: This is pretty self explanatory. SpongeBob's Abilities: Karate Spin (harms all enemies in a small area). Bubble Bowl (he just throws a bowling ball. nuff said.) Bash (jumps harms all enemies upward) Homer's Abilities: Belch (harms all enemies forward) Helium Homer (becomes a balloon for a limited time. can go to much higher places) Knee Kick (grab an enemy, hold the "kick" button and use the d pad or left stick to aim, then release to get faraway enemies or buttons) Blob (becomes a giant blob for a limited time and can literally eat enemies whole. 5 minute cool down) Wario's Abilities: Shoulder Bash (charges forward and kills any enemy in his path) Throw (can throw certain objects or enemies) Chomp (bites enemies, hurts any enemy in his path) Shake (shakes enemies to get some extra Shiny Objects out of them. Afterwards, they are thrown into the abyss.) All playable characters have the Ground Pound move, which upon jumping or falling, you can press the respective attack button on your controller and get enemies or buttons below. Unlocking levels: Each level needs a certain amount of Golden Spatulas to unlock. Simple. Attack upgrades: Similar to The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie game, you can upgrade your attacks. Instead of getting an Upgrade Point, though, you can simply spend some Shiny Objects to upgrade a move. Be careful, because it is pretty pricey. Oh yeah, each attack for a character can be upgraded up to 2 times. Costumes: Using the Shiny Objects you earn in gameplay, you can buy costumes for the characters. That's all. Final Boss: Upon beating all the other bosses in the game, the conveniently placed Master Portal is powered and can be entered. Upon entering, you find out that the villain is no other than Hello Kitty in the Sanrio universe. The boss has 4 phases. In phase 1, she simply runs towards you while trying to hit you. In phase 2, she runs into her house and gets cardboard armor. After getting out, she finds a long stick on the ground and uses it. In this phase, she is a lot faster, she takes more hits because of her armor, and the stick increases her attack range.
(continuation of the description) In phase 3, she calls her friends (specifically 6 of them) to aid her in battle. Every friend has about a third of Kitty's health. Kitty herself periodically uses a powerful "Love Beam" that you have to jump over or run from. If you get it, it takes a third of your health off. In the final phase, Kitty finds a gun in her house. An actual gun. Then, she starts looking in her closet and finds a bulletproof vest, a welding mask, and camouflage pants. Out of the blue, Homer and Wario show up in the Patty Wagon to help you put an end to this madness. In here, Kitty constantly tries to shoot you. Getting shot takes off half of your health off. To harm Kitty, you have to gain speed and hit her with the Patty Wagon. Quite intense, ain't it? Why it's rated M: Heavy use of harsh language and intense violence. That's all I gotta say about the game in my dreams. Until we meet again. Credits: @ManageLimit for the zoom in script Music is Industrial Park from Battle for Bikini Bottom
