Before I get into my regular spiel: Just because Pride Month is over doesn't mean the Queer community isn't valid anymore--scratch that, isn't valid PERIOD. They have ALWAYS been valid when it comes to being queer. Boys can like boys, girls can like girls, and people don't have to be girls or boys if it doesn't fit them. I'm so happy everytime I see someone support this community. Gives me a little more hope that maybe being homophobic will be considered on the same level as being racist (THEY ARE BOTH AWFUL). Yeah, I get a little depressed when I see someone being 'phobic. But then I remember: hang on, I've seen way more allies than phobes. The world isn't entirely over. Of course, that's just my experience </3 Happy Pride Month, Gays, Lays (lesbians), Nays (None attractions), and Straights. Now: Look, I know that Pride is over, that no one would checked everyday for artwork is going to see this, and that it was decided I was to draw Orange/Gray (Shark/Squidwing). BUT...I couldn't help myself. That's right: Emberstrike had a thing for Murkypaw. And no, they are definitely around the same age (Ember being older by two moons), Murkypaw just "died" during his warrior assessment, but since he was still technically alive, he kept growing older. Anyway: Emberpaw was crushing HARD on Murkypaw. I'm talking gazing when he thinks Murky isn't watching, admiring, and thinking "he is SO cool." They're around the same age, I think Murkypaw could be a role model for Emberpaw. But then Murkypaw went to the Dark Forest and Emberpaw definitely cried the most at his vigil. They were best friends. So, when Murky sees Ember (and his brother Squid) working with Dark Forest cats, he gets very concerned. Will Murkypaw ever know about Emberstrike's past feelings? Probably not. I'd say back then it was an "In love" kind of thing, but over time after Murkypaw's "Death" it went more into a crush. He still thinks Murkypaw's the coolest guy ever though. I think this image takes place shortly before Emberstrike's warrior assessment, while they're both still in the land of the living and apprentices. Maybe it's the night before, and Murkypaw snuck out of the apprentice den to stand in camp for a little bit. At the time, he was having a lot of internal conflict if he should still associate himself with the Dark Forest anymore. Emberpaw may have noticed him out of his nest and went out to check on him. Murkypaw is lost in thought and staring up at his ancestors, and Emberpaw doesn't mind staying a little bit afar. It's a beautiful view, to him. I love that cliche of a character staring at their crush when the crush is looking at the sunset or something and says,"It's beautiful" and the character agrees. I think its adorable <3
Art: @Floppy_Art83 - I FORGOT THE BLUSH AGAIN--This might actually be my least favorite. I'm sorry it's rushed. I had no clue what I was doing with the lighting ;-; krita still scares me kinda. so many brushes, options, blending modes! Anyway, the original version is much darker and can be found in project. I just thought it was way too dark to see anything, so I set the brightness to ten.
