Back for part 2! Hope you guys like it! :D Read ahead, just scroll when you're ready! :] Groggy from sleep, our Fellisio staggered to their feet and hobbled over to a nearby pool of water, Fellisio's needed moisture at least once every 3 days or they'd be rendered helpless. She spread their wings as wide as the space would allow them and soaked up the cool comfort of the water. "What're you doing?" She jumped clear out of the water, teeth bared. A simple Puffwump sat before them, completely unfazed by their sudden movements. "Oh. Hello." She said, embarrassed at their overreaction to such a harmless little thing. "What're you doing?" The Puffwump asked again. "Just... soaking." She said. "Oh. Cool." The Puffwump said, falling to its side. It didn't even seem to notice. "Oh-kayyy..." Our Fellisio started, "Nice to.. meet you." She said, walking away towards some abandoned ribs. She tore into the ribs and savored the delicious meat. Once she ate what she needed, she decided to make a plan. Something was after them, and they needed a plan to get out of this. Plan A: Hide underwater and stay there forever. Plan B: Find the Laharpes and end him before he can end them. Plan C: Avoid the Laharpes and continue life as usual. She decided on Plan C and stalked off towards the edge of the Redwoods, the Central Rockfaces was just ahead. She maneuvered around rocks and bushes to make sure none of the creatures gathered around the drinking pool saw them. She ducked behind one of the towering rockfaces and watched the other creatures. The Laharpes was with them. She twitched their wings back to make herself seem smaller, backing even more into the shadows. "I'll find that Fellisio." He said. "What'd some Fellisio do anyway?" Another creature, she couldn't tell what, asked tiredly. "I need to get that bounty reward." The Laharpes answered. The other creature yawned, "Aren't they like.. not that hard to k!ll though?". The Laharpes scowled, "They aren't as harmless as they may seem." He growled. "How do you figure?" The other creature asked. The Laharpes chuckled. "Well... it's QUITE a story." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A small family of Laharpes' lay relaxing in the sands of the desert. Without warning, a Fellisio dove from the sky and ripped the wing off the Laharpes' father. He screeched as the Fellisio breathed it's horrible storm breath down on him. The Fellisio took the wing back to his own family. His mate and child hid in the shadows of the towering mesa canyon. The Laharpes' child saw this and began to charge at the Fellisios, but his mother stopped him. "Azrael. Leave them." She commanded. "Sneaky trickers." The father growled. Days later, the father Laharpes passed. The mother followed shortly after in an attempt to protect her son from a huge Shararook. Without the father, she wasn't anywhere near strong enough. Azrael fled and sat smoldering in his rage at the Fellisio that started the horrible chain. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Huh." The other creature said, "Well, isn't that just the way things go..?" It asked. Azrael bit down on the other creatures' wing. "Ow! Okay, okay." It whined. Our Fellisio's eyes sparkled, she remembered that day, their family hadn't been able to find food in days, and their father brought them a wing. It was the only reason they had survived the journey to Flower Cove from their previous home. "The one I saw was absolutely related to that wretch. She was a spitting image of him." Azrael snarled. She quietly crawled out from under the rocks and dove into the bushes. Azrael twitched towards where they had ducked into the brush. He sniffed the air and cackled as he recognized the scent of Fellisio. She launched herself out of the bush with all the power she had and tried to fly away, the Laharpes caught their tail and she fell down into the drinking pool. She tried her best to swim as far down as she could, Laharpes couldn't swim, or breathe underwater like a Fellisio can. She curled up in a bed of algae and licked their wounds. She caught a flash of white out of the corner of her eye. Curious, she swam towards it. A face suddenly popped up in front of them. She hissed and sprang back, hackled raised. Another Fellisio. But not like the ones they had seen before, this one looked different... She relaxed, "Oh, sorry." She shook their head. "It's alright, gotta stay vigilant around here!" The other Fellisio grinned, "I'm Shark!" They chirped. "Um, Calico" She said. "That's pretty :0" Shark said, cocking their head to the side. "Or Nyx.. whichever you prefer." She added. She'd been called by so many names she wasn't sure which one was right anymore. "Ooh, I like that one too!" Shark said. "Do you know where we are?" Calico asked. "Well, here is between Seaweed Depths and..." He swallowed, "The Rocky Drop." He shuddered. "What's that?" Calico asked, crossing their paws, she wasn't so on edge anymore. (CONTINUE IN N&C!!)
CONTINUE FROM DESC HERE!! "A really deep part of the estuary, the ground is mostly sand and stone, but if you aren't careful, you can trip into one of the holes in the ground and end up in the drop." Shark cowered slightly, "It's really dark down there, there aren't any creatures though, as far as anyone knows. I slipped down there once, and I've avoided it as much as possible since. It's really creepy down there." He shuddered. Calico froze as a creature swam behind Shark. Shark tilted their head; he hadn't noticed it yet. Calico signaled for them to turn around and dash past the creature. Shark's eyes widened and they nodded. Shark shot a burst of storm breath in the entrance to the cave they were in and darted past the creature. Calico was right behind them. She followed them all the way to the Grassy Shoal. She whipped around. Nothing. They'd lost the other creature. "What WAS that?" Calico panted. "I think it was a Kohikii. Very hungry. Very creepy." Shark shuddered. They both took a minute to catch their breath. "...What now?" Calico asked. "Well, I heard that Laharpes talking earlier, need any help with that?" Shark asked back. "How did you hear that?" Calico's wings twitched defensively on instinct. "I was swimming in the drinking pool and heard him talking. I saw you hiding by the rocks and figured he was talking about you, since I haven't seen another Fellisio in YEARS. I saw him attack you and I swam away as you fell in, that's why you didn't see me." He smiled goofily. "Huh." Calico breathed. Shark wrapped his tail around Calico's wrist and pulled them into a clump of hanging kelp. Calico gasped as they hit the stone cliff side behind them, "Wha-" Shark put a wing over her mouth. A huge Kohikii swam by, it's jaws opening and closing, making a chattering sound with its clacking teeth. Calico's pupils shrank. Their fur prickled all over their back. She glanced over at Shark, he looked very... serious. It didn't seem very in character for them, Calico brushed her hip against his. He shook his head quickly and playfully shushed her with his tail. Calico cocked their head and turned back towards the Kohikii. It was still swimming relatively close to the two of them. After a few more seconds though, it swam on. The two left the shadow of the hanging kelp and Shark pulled some leftover pieces off their wings. Calico laughed, he hadn't yet noticed a giant clump of kelp resting on their head. He finally noticed the clump and batted it off his head with a huff. Calico shook her head; they needed to be serious right now. "What are we going to do about the bounty?" She asked. "What bounty?" Shark asked, batting at some coral. "The bounty on the skulls of Fellisios?" Calico said, she thought Shark knew this already. "Huh?" He said, leaving the coral and swimming back towards Calico. "That Laharpes is after me because of some bounty. Apparently, there's a reward for the skull of any Fellisio... and I'm his prime target because my family hurt his ages ago." Calico said, pacing. "Wait. So... ANY Fellisio?" Shark's eyes widened, "So if I'm a Paradise Fellisio... that must be worth even more! We're three times as rare as regular Fellisios!" He breathed. "Yeah. So what are we going to do about that? We can't just run forever." Calico said, pinning her ears back behind her head. "Why not? We're FELLISIOS, we could run and hide until Sonaria crumbles if we wanted to." Shark said. "Not if they sniff us out, outrun or outswim us, or just SEE us." Calico paced faster. "They can't sniff us out underwater silly! All we have to do is go invisible and not move! Then they won't be able to feel the vibrations either." Shark laughed. "Go.. what?" Calico's ears perked up. "Invisible!" Shark chirped, "All Fellisios can do it by the time they're a teen!" He closed their eyes and swished their tail. Just like that, he was gone. "What the...!?" Calico gasped. "Nobody ever taught you?" Shark asked, their body slowly reappearing. "No.." Calico breathed. Their parents had gotten caught in a bad storm only weeks after they arrived at Flower Cove. They never came back to the den... And they never got the chance to teach them much about their natural abilities. "Well it's easy!" Shark chimed enthusiastically, "Just focus.. and imagine the colors of the world around you merging with your body.." Calico closed their eyes and tried to focus. She flicked their tail back and forth and let the colors in the water around them surround them and sink through their skin. "You're doing it!" Shark piped excitedly. "Wow.." Calico said, looking down at their paws, she couldn't see them, but she could feel where they were somehow. "This is amazing!" She chimed. She let her body reappear and looked back at Shark.
