The men of the south, also known as the “Khalkud” are fearsome warriors. Unlike most of the tribes they don’t rely on horse archers, the mountainous terrain around their valleys are empty of trees, and don’t provide the necessary space for horse archery, instead the majority of their troops are spearmen, who form a thick spear wall to counter cavalry and axemen to flank the enemy. The mountains that house the Khalkud valleys are rich in iron, the Khalkud capture southern people forcing them to mine this iron, they also capture southern blacksmiths making them forge armour, and weapons for the Khalkud, unlike other tribal groups the Khalkud are quite centralised, the Gerandalhar tribe chief is the high chief of all Khalkud tribes and the have one central army that can splinter into smaller forces when necessary. They haven’t given up their slaves yet as stated in the treaty, they are very unhappy with the terms signed by the northern and central chiefs, they where excluded from negotiations as the rest of the Prěvna see them as weak. The Khalkud where relentlessly raided by the Prěvna until the remaining remnants of the Khalkud joined the Prěvna as the Prěvna were more interested in raiding west. Years of being pushed around has hardened the Khalkud into arguably the most elite troops of the Prěvna. At the heart of the Prěvna army are there heavily armoured cataphracts, and their favourite weapon, the Grelha (elephants).
