DELTARUNE SONG CONTEST (if you don't know how to make a song, refer to the bottom) CONTEST END: August 1st the song in the project is mine :D ----––-––-----––-–––------––----––----–––---––––-----–––-- RULES: - must be inspired by Toby Fox's music - Must be YOUR OWN song - Must be longer than 10 seconds - Have fun or else I will get Gaster to shatter you across space and time - You can't recreate toby's songs (but you can remix them) WHAT YOU CAN DO: - Add in some of Toby's Leitmotifs - Use Toby's instruments - remix toby's songs HOW TO MAKE MUSIC (Simple) - start with simple chords to get your brain in a musical mood. (this will help with the melodies) - Make your melodies the notes inside the chords (to be in key), but also the notes outside the chords (for more emotion and to avoid your melody sounding really bland) - Call and response method. Make a simple musical phrase (set of notes), and repeat it back but slightly different (So slightly different notes or rhythm, ect.). A musical phrase can even be 3 notes! - Motifs!! Toby uses them a lot, A motif is a musical phrase that gets repeated throughout the song, either with no change or slight changes (like instrument or speed change. Kinda ties in with call and response) - Leitmotifs too! - really, just using the same/similar notes in different patterns makes your song memorable.
