K1A7V-DN is the Dainamese modernization package for the imported K1A3 main battle tank. Designed to enhance the platform's firepower and battlefield effectiveness, the package replaces the original 120 mm L/44 smoothbore cannon with a newly developed 120 mm L/55 smoothbore cannon, improving muzzle velocity, long-range accuracy, and armor penetration. The longer barrel is also compatible with gun-launched anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), enabling precision engagement of heavily armored targets and low-flying helicopters at extended ranges. The modernization further introduces a fully digital fire-control system, AI-assisted target acquisition and tracking, an upgraded 360-degree battlefield awareness suite, improved composite armor with modular explosive reactive armor (ERA), and a 1,500 hp powerpack for enhanced mobility and operational endurance. The tank retains its factory-installed Active Protection System (APS), ensuring comprehensive protection against modern anti-tank threats while preserving compatibility with the original platform.
