Scratch 4.0 got leaked. Wow! Cool! They’re implementing AI. NOBODY WANTED THIS!!!! The whole point of Scratch is to MAKE THINGS, not ask an AI to do it. We didn’t need a chatbot feature. In fact, many people have already made chatbots! The speech to text thing is fine, I don’t mind it, and the Song Maker? Sounds incredible! An easier way to make music that’s also built into to the website? Great! They put AI in that, too. What’s the point? Genuinely, I’m asking. If you’re supposed to CREATE things in this website, WHY MAKE AI DO THINGS?! Oh, some users don’t know how to make music, huh? Did those same users know how to code when they first made their account? Most didn’t. And they learned how to. Learning is a thing that human beings can do. By having AI, that factor of learning is taken away. Scratch is the first step into coding for lots of people. Some may go on to bigger coding engines, make a game, gain money. But they can’t do that if they didn’t learn! So please, I ask you. When 4.0 eventually does release, don’t use the AI features. Please. And if you do use the song maker, don’t use the AI in that. Hey, at least there is an AI sprite maker.
