This is a new series I am starting, and i might not get super into it and just end it at one point, but if you do like it please tell me because that will really boost my motivation. This is sorta gonna be like a romcom kinda story, but there will be some serious stuff, but don’t worry, I will put warnings on the chapters that will be rough. Now, on with the show. I walked slowly up the bleachers, keeping my hand above the hot railing, but close enough to catch myself if I slip. I smiled slightly as I noticed some of my friends sitting neatly next to each other near the top. I sat down beside them and said. “Hi” and they nodded in acknowledgment. We may seem dull, but that’s how we like it, calm and collected, knowing when and how everything is gonna happen and planning it all out. It’s much better than living like the Mapplewood kids. Speaking of the Mapplewood kids, here came a few, and they seemed even worse than the average. Mapplewoodians (goofy name but that’s the point) are know for being reckless and fearless, which made them very very different from us. We like everything in an orderly fashion, they are more like the kind of kids who would get in trouble in class for laughing to loud, which I’m sure they do all the time. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate them or anything, but they sometimes get on my, and the rest of my school’s, nerves. Some of them are bearable, but I don’t think I’ve ever met kids from our school who are friends, or anything close to it really, with kids from Maplewood. We just don’t mix well you know? I mean a crazy kid and a calm one, just doesn’t work out. Anyways, these four seem like an extra Mapplewoody group, because as they raced up the stairs seeing who could reach the top first, which was very dangerous already because their hands weren’t even close to the railing if they slipped, they were pushing each other. There were two boys and two girls. The two in front were a curly haired blonde girl who had a sprinkle of freckles over her nose. She had on a large Mapplewood Minks sweatshirt, blue jeans, and drawn on low top converses, and a boy who had greasy brown hair that he had slicked back on the top, but he missed a spot and a chunk of hair hung in front of his face, but he didn’t seem to care. He had on a white shirt that had the Mapplewood mink mascot on front and he wore a jean jacket over it. He had black slacks on and white sneakers, that had stained a bit and turned a bit brown around the bottom. These two pushed each other aggressively and were smirking and chatting, which I didn’t understand because I would be out of breath if I was running and pushing, so I couldn’t imagine how they were taking. The other two were also running, but they weren’t pushing each other, they were just smiling at the two in front while racing after them. Eventually they would say something, but they weren’t constantly talking like the other two. The girl in back had sleek, straight, dark brown hair that went down most of her back, and she had tan skin. She wore a white tank top and had a zip up sweatshirt half way zipped, light blue jeans, and a pair of black, Mary Jane style shoes with short heels. The boy had jet black hair that was short, but still super curly. He had a pale white face and a mole right beside his nose. He had on a black shirt (which only made him look more pale), and red basketball shorts. He wore white socks that went just above his ankles and red shoes to match his shorts. I watched them, surprised and relieved no one had fell yet, and as they zoomed past the boy in front pushed the blonde girl hard enough that she stumbled and fell to the ground, almost hitting my feet as she hit the concrete bleachers. I didn’t see her hit her head, so I offered my hand to help her up as she rubbed her head, but she didn’t notice as she shouted “Get back here Jayden!” To the boy who pushed her and she stood up to rush off. I watched her, grimacing at the thought of her not being so lucky on the stairs as she still wasn’t close to the railing, then when she reached the top, which wasn’t far, and punched the boy who pushed her lightly on the shoulder, I looked back to my friends and they sighed. As I waited for the game to start I shuffled my feet, feeling bored but not wanting to do anything, and I felt my foot hit something. I looked down and saw a brown wallet, and I reached down to pick it up. I help it up to my friends and said, “I think that girl dropped it when she fell.” “Do you think you should go give her it?” My friend Samuel asked. Sam had black hair that he had slicked back (without a piece sticking out in front of his face) and a sharp face. He wore a white button up and black slacks that were a bit too big for him. My other friend said “The games starting, give it to her later.” looking to the field. This was Eddie, he had light brown medium length, messy hair that his mother has tried to persuade him to cut off for months, but he likes it. He has an average looking face, and pale skin which makes his blue eyes stick out like a sore thumb. He wore a blue Jakefield sweatshirt and had on brown fancy pants that looked expensive, but were what he usually wore. I nodded, because even though our team was going to get clobbered, I still wanted to watch, because who knows, maybe there will be a miracle. At halftime, the Jakefield Jaybirds were down 0-21, I got up and said I was going to go give the wallet back and my friends nodded and started to talk a little bit, but quietly an respectfully. I walked up the bleachers, my hand hovering over the rail by habit this time, but when I saw the look the four kids gave me I let my hand fall, but still kept it ready. The boy and girl who were in front when they were racing up the stairs were still pushing each other a bit, but much less aggressively, and the other two were sitting beside them, chatting eagerly. When I reached them the boy, Jayden I think his name was, looked at me and said “You lost Jaybird?” For a moment I couldn’t speak, not thinking about what I would say unlike I usually do, but I cleared my throat and said “No,” then I turned to the blonde girl and said “I think you dropped this when you fell.” And I held out the wallet. “Oh thanks,” she said, and I looked at her as she grabbed it and smiled. I smiled back weakly, ready to get out of there. As I turned to walk away she said “Wait,” and I turned around, wondering what she needed now, and she was smiling. “Do you wanna sit with us, you seem cooler than the other Jaybirds.” I hesitated, and before I could say no her friends turned to her and the other girl said “Are you serious, all Jaybirds are boring, why would you want him to sit with us?” “Oh come on,” the blonde girl said “ have you ever even talked to a Jay, do you know if they are really that boring, or if it’s a story everyone at Mapplewood just goes along with. Besides, they might be more boring than us, but I’m sure this guy has something interesting going on.” She said and she looked at me. I looked at her, and as she waited for an answer I gulped and said “Sure, I’ll sit with you guys.” She scooted over, and the next thing I knew I was sitting in between four Mapplewoodians with no clue why, being pushed so hard I was sure I would be bruised in the morning, and casting glances at my friends, who I could practically hear asking if I had gone insane. End of chapter one. I’ll try to post again in the next three days.
