[Background] The Tenzokai (Also known as a Tachanka) is a horse drawn wagon with a fixed a machine gun operated by a crew of two, the gunner and and driver. It first entered service in 1912 as a stopgap for the mass production of armored cars [Beginnings] When the M1911 "Edo" armored car came into production, the Kusan Defense Force was extremely skeptic of the new technology, they were prone to breakdowns, stalling, overheating and the machine gun jamming. As a result of these doubts, the Kusan Imperial Army only brought 5 armored cars into service and the company making the armored cars, Edo Manufacturing was order to fix all errors before they came into mass production. The KIA (Kusan Imperial Army) with their concerns still saw the capabilities of the armored car and decided to use stopgap armored cars instead. They KIA used two seated horse wagons, 6 boxes of ammuntion and a M1908 Qui-Chang HMG to the back. , all 6 ammunition crates were linked by a singular ammo belt that feed directly into the machinegun. Thus, the Tenzokai was born [Service] The Tenzokai made it's first appearence during a military parade in the capital of Kusan, Sinyeong where 10 horse drawn machine gun wagons appeared. People thought the KIA was crazy and drawing up random ideas until the KIA released official documents explaining the the Tenzokai. On the papers, they explained the Tenzoka was a stopgap for the lack of armored cars in the KIA and they were highly effective, utilizing agility of horses and the firepower of a machine gun. [End of service], in March 1912, the KIA officially ended the service of the Tenzokai when the new M1912 Edo armored cars had arrived. Mass production of these armored cars quickly replaced the Tenzokai wagons until the last one was retired by armored car no-179.
