With continued support from Velusia and an increase in resources, the NRA decided to conduct it's own experiments with armored vehicles under the name: "Project Steel Dragon". Taking a reinforced civilian truck chassis, giving it a turret and a machine gun, they created the Type 1 Armored Car. The Type 1 Armored Car entered field trials in the summer of 1912 under the supervision of the NRA and Velusian military advisers. It entered into service with the 9th army soon afterward, though only 2 had been produced.
