The "Twintowers" virus is a reported malicious script on the Scratch platform that was active in September 2011 and later resurfacing in 2023. According to evidence from the Scratch Team, the virus infected 8,400 user accounts, instantly wiping out all of their followers and deleting every shared project. Rumors within the community suggest that the exploit managed to persist and still exists on OctoStudio, a separate mobile application. The widely cited containment method for the infection states that affected users must unshare all of their remaining shared projects and then refresh Scratch's browser cookies to stop the script from running.
