Hortu has been voted leader of the Prěvna forces by the loyal chiefs, the plan is to gather an army in the Zenda tribes land’s and will then march south with this army to crush the rebellion, once the army has been assembled it will march south and crush the rebellion. Once assembled Prěvna estimate an army of 73k. But the Khalkud have a plan, their army (17k) has already mobilised and under the command of Sutlan Shi il Ghalran they march north attacking villages, stealing livestock and being a general nuisance. They have done this on purpose to make the Prěvna look weak to the western tribes. They know the Prěvna will only attack once the northern troops have arrived, but the northern troops will only join them if Katphursiya gets involved. After a couple weeks the western tribes decide to join the Khalkud in rebellion and send their warriors to join the Khalkud army (now 32k). Hortu can no longer ignore the army pillaging the central plains, he furiously begins a forced ride south with only 51k troops, still a gigantic army, and equally as disorganised. The ride is incredibly chaotic, Hortu refuses to rest and he didn’t bring enough supplies with him to feed his giant army, he is expecting the Khalkud to stop and fight him, but instead they retreat south. By the time they have caught the Khalkud in the mountains they are exhausted, starving and only 34k strong, a huge amount of troops deserted during the ride south, à with quite a few men dying of exhaustion, heat stroke and starvation. The worst loss is the thousands of horses, only a 3rd of the army’s horses are still alive, and most of them are too exhausted to stand. But Hortu, while arrogant and hot-headed is still a brilliant general, maybe he can still win. All is set for the Battle of Galgalur Pass.
