SPOILER WARNING!! I'll be talking about the entirety of the show, and I HIGHLY recommend watching it yourself first because (spoiler for my review) it's actually SUCH A GOOD SHOW, so I definitely recommend watching it blind first, then coming back here :3 Okay so hopefully now you've all either watched it and came back, have already watched it, or just don't care if it gets spoiled :p > My Opinion/General Review - It was a really fun watch, I enjoyed all the episodes, I really liked the characters, it was really funny, overall 10/10 show :3 - There were some really clever ways that plot points were set up and all the characters were written pretty well in my opinion, the dialogue is, for the most part, pretty natural and doesn't sound very forced (except times when it's supposed to) - I've already re-watched it 3 times bc its just really fun to watch, even if you know what's gonna happen - Also Purple and Black (funnily enough) are literally the two sides of my personality and you can't convince me otherwise ;w; > INSANELY Clever details Now I might just be overthinking this part, but there were some little details that I noticed after watching the show with the ending in mind. And if these WERE intentionally set up this way, it's GENIUS. - So for starters, there's a scene in Ep5 where Orange is discovered to be an alien and the crew tries to trick them into the garbage shoot, using excuses like "oh, the trash chute is clogged.” and "there's a trust ball down there!" meanwhile Green, who's also discovered to be an alien in the last episode, says things like "but I just cleaned the trash chute!" and "aren't all the trust balls clogging the hole in storage?" Which is played off as a joke about the clueless intern who doesn't get the plan, but actually makes a lot of sense form the perspective of "oh, they're working together", they were trying to WARN Orange, who didn't pick up on the clues, so their partner wouldn't be ejected. Which is REALLY smart considering the more obvious hints that Green was an alien hadn't really started yet. I might be reading too much into this one but if this WAS intentional it's GENIUS writing. - There were also a lot of more obvious clues about the aliens intolerance to salt throughout pretty much the whole series, Orange makes several comments about salt in the earlier episodes, and eventually it ends up being the aliens one weakness (Great example of Chekhov's Gun, I really liked that one :3) - This one isn't really about a big twist or anything but I also wanted to talk about how well-written and natural the character and relationship arcs are in the show, Specifically Black and Cyan's or Red and Purple's. They were written in ways that felt very real and kept everyone on their toes about how things would end between them, I was really happy with how Red and Purple's arc turned out, but I really loved Black and Cyan's after-death development, that was really cool :3 - I also think the show left a really nice door open for a season 2 with the question of "why did Mira want alien eggs in the first place?" And the potential to use all the other maps as settings (Personally I really hope that they do that in future bc I would LOVE to see the other maps as the settings in future seasons, that would be really cool :3) > The Horror Aspect The show was a REALLY good horror/murder mystery portrayal. There were creepy scenes, dramatic methods of displaying situations, misleading clues about who the killer was, all while still maintaining a really natural flow, rather than some shows that just throw that stuff in just because.
That's all I can really think of right now, but in conclusion, you should absolutely watch the show, I highly recommend it, it's super cool and well written and it's based around a game that I've really liked ever since it came out, and I'm really excited to see what happens in Season 2 :3
