❥ Update 005. Backing Sunflower - I walked into the barn, greeting Sunflower. I opened her stall door, and guided her out to the paddock, waving goodbye to her as I turned to leave for the barn. As I walked inside the barn and headed to Sunflower's stall, and I got down on my knees to get Sunflower's saddle and pad. I quickly stood up and walked out of the barn, eager to get to the paddock. I called Sunflower over, and she trotted to me. I put down the saddle on the grass, and let her smell the pad before putting it down on top of the saddle, and I scratched her neck and moving over to her barrel. I moved my hand over her shoulder and back mostly, since that's where the saddle will be going when she's ready for it. When I was done with that, I got back on my knees and picked up the saddle along with the pad, and headed back to the barn. I put Sunflower's tack back on the hook, and put her in the stall, saying goodbye and heading out. She did awesome today and even let me touch her shoulder and back. Just glad I didn't get bucked today!
