In this piece Fern and I are out for a swim in the lake that WVS is next to. Fern, my 5 y/o Lustiano mare broke her canon bone a few months back and I've began easing her back into work. The heat wave has been brutal up here in the mountains so the water felt amazing. I used a neck strap to hold onto since staying on a wet slippery horse is hard! I also used a old junky western bridle that's been kicking around since I didn't want to get any of the nice bridles soaked. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - On Tuesday I'm driving down to Southern California for my Great grandma's funeral, and the week after I'm going to a sleep away summer camp run through my church. This means I will be inactive from July 21 - August 1. And please don't feel bad about my great grandma, she was 103 and about a month away from turning 104.
