edit: apparently pansies and hyacinth, when combined, mean that “your betrayal haunts you” (from a pin) and olives and hyacinth which could be the black things (but i doubt it) means peace and forgiveness dang i had to leave my realm of japanese music and indie rock for this how dare you ignore my crazy ramblings. first here are my notes on each of the theme songs or just songs (or idk man uhh) since they’re a little difficult to read. if you can read them good for you, just skip this part. and fine, i’ll use properish grammar (capitalization is my enemy) Chk Chk Boom (Solur) - Okay all I’m going on here is what’s in the drawing since the actual lyrics did NOT help So for important context take a look at the 5ad as objects project and if you’ve seen it already, good for you. From that project, regarding Solur, we can assume that his biggest fear (see figure 1) probably is fire or something related to that. And this art does have some pretty obvious fiery things, namely the eye, which aside from being uhh fire (and this is a little out there mind you) has a sorta demonlike pupil because in anime type art specifically you tend to use a thin pupil. Might be (probably is) unrelated though. Not a ton I have to say here other than that, although I’m wondering if this is like…another form of Solur or just some stylistic coloring Piano in the Sky (Mizu) - Considering Mizu is (probably) dead, I don’t really have much to say about this one. That and there’s just generally not really much I have to say Birds (Sun) - Love the flower symbolism gotta love the flower symbolism heheheh This one is particularly interesting, first of all I’m like 85% sure that the person across from Sun is Ray (smith) and that he appeared in chapter 26 as part of some sort of organization that he joined that sorta is mentioned in a flashback from Star in chapter 22 (see figure 2). I can’t quite make out the long word before permanently but I think it’s “government”. So the full thing is “I’m going to have to leave. [I have to join the government] permanently. [They find my powers] quite useful.” So that might actually be one of the most important statements regarding the plot of the comic, since it reveals that Ray and probably by extension his mum or dad have something to do with a government thing that tried at one point to execute Sun. If we take into account the person from chapter 26, who by the way has very similar looking and functioning powers to Ray, and who also says “By the order of our COUNTRY”, it would make perfect sense if pretty soon after the Mizu Incident (tm), Ray ended up getting recruited into the government somehow. And there happens to be a detail in the scene where Aqua comes to talk to Ray. He’s holding a letter!! A LETTER!! PROBABLY FROM THE GOVERNMENT! So yeah. Anyways. That’s my biggest theory. Back to the actual art. The flowers in the art seem to be some sort of black flower that I couldn’t figure out, but black flowers seem to have pretty similar meanings all around: regret, mystery, power, etc. Regret or power both make sense here, since I assume that Sun’s power(s) are the root cause or Ray’s apparent death, but I suspect it’s regret since uhh you killed a guy why would you not have some regrets. I had a hard time with the purple flower with the yellow center (if anyone can help me out i appreciate it) but I think it’s probably pansies since they sorta mean “thinking of you” or remembrance which makes sense. The last one is the easiest, hyacinths are very recognizable and represent a desire for forgiveness. Happy Face (Moon) - I honestly genuinely nonkiddingly…have no idea whats going on here All I have to say is maybe I get to watch Moon do something more evil than illegal soon. And yeah I think most of the panels in the background ironically have something to do with Sun but they’re all panels where moon is very happy Hard Times (Angela) - This one’s pretty self-explanatory, it’s what Angela thinks of the others. Some of it is actually true, but it’s questionable. Dumb Dumb (Aqua) - Wow… this one is my favorite. I love unscrambling dialogue, in case you haven’t noticed. I unscrambled each and every one of these…word…things…(i forgot the word for it) Here they are: “I miss Mizu…” (fun fact her name means water in Japanese for those of you who don’t know it’s this kanji-> 水) “Is Solur tricking me like Ray did?” “Does my dad love me?” “Why did I open up to Solur?” “Am I a failure?” “Did Ray mean to kill Mizu?” “Does Solur actually like me for who I am?” “Can I love?” That’s it. And to be honest it’s all pretty self-explanatory. Except why is Skeletos in the corner? And I can’t make out what’s next to him in the corner. Weak (Skeletos) - haha peter griffin death pose meme That’s it for today chat I needa turn off auto caps This took almost 3 hours stats for nerds: time taken: ~3 hours program used: scratch bitmap and scratch vector song of the project: Mimi’s Delivery Service - Good Kid
