so some leaks of Scratch 4.0 just came out and for some reason scratch is adding AI blocks and a "CatGPT" and adding a Song Maker that heavily uses AI, and all I'm asking is: Scratch, what are we doing? Like there was a game that I used to play that shut down and the no-way back point was them adding an AI. I have heard some rumors that they plan to not add these due to cost but I heard that from a youtube comment section so don't get your hopes up. And they're adding a chat-bot to help make the projects. WHAT ARE WE DOING!? At least they are adding a "Speech to text" that makes it so if you say words, it can do something so that will make some horror games even better, and hopefully when this comes out, they'll fix whatever is going on with trending because it's showing projects from like 2017, and also there are some features I would like to see but they're not going to add them. 1. Widescreen I get why it's 4:3 when scratch was made that was the standard but now that was nearly 20 years ago so get with the times. 2. All of the Scratch Lab stuff just add animated text and I'll stay on this platform for a long time 3. BETTER MODERATION. I feel like this isn't a me thing and is just a whole thing that people want but, do we really need ANYTHING that has something spooky in it to get banned? And also there was a whole thing with trending so that's also another reason, and mass reports are a given now-adays. 4. UNLISTED PROJECTS. Project's that are unlisted so only people that have the link can view it, this would be a MASSIVE blessing for collabs. 5. Squash and Stretch would be amazing 6. Tweening It would be nice to create motion tweens for animations like in flash or other animation programs 7. Scratch 2.0 text boxes just add the 2.0 text boxes back, they look nice ;) 8. Make the editor faster just fix the editor the second you put in anything it starts chugging 9. ALL OF THE 2.0 FONTS just bring back all of the 2.0 fonts 10. MOBILE BLOCKS AND GAMEPAD SUPPORT add a block to detect if you are on a mobile device so it could give you a d-pad or something, also add controller support it would just be nice to play scratch games on the big screen. So yeah that's it. Can't wait for 4.0 though.
