chapter 1 : juni x quinn เᥒtɾꪮ ever since juni took the job as the new receptionist in the lobby of the eccentric multi-story vibe entertainment headquarters in lively south korea, she’s had doubts of whether she can make it or not. while her brother is engaged, a successful business owner, and lives in a mansion triple the size of their childhood home, juni is still figuring out how to unlock the door to her tiny apartment. ᥴhᥲρtꫀɾ 1 juni stuffed her phone into the already bulging full purse on her shoulder and sighed. she looked in the mirror, rearranged her glasses, and drove herself to the vibe entertainment headquarters. “you can do this, juni.” she mumbled as the car pulled into a parking space and locked as she got out. juni stood in front of the tall building, moving her head upward as far as the building went. her thoughts of doubt were interupted by a car honking and a bump on her right hip as she fell to the floor. juni groaned and looked up, seeing a mexican woman her age standing with her hands over her mouth. “oh my god, are you okay? i didn’t see you, i swear it was an accident. please don’t sue!” the woman pleaded as she helped juni to her feet. “i…i think i’m fine,” juni said, shaking her head and picking up the spilled objects of her purse. “sorry, you are?” the woman smiled. “i’m quinn, a talent agent.” juni smiled back. “hi. i'm juni, the new receptionist. nice to meet you.” quinn frowned. “oh. seo-jun didn’t tell me we got a new one today,” she mumbled as she walked inside the building. juni quickly followed her, stopping at the front desk, where a woman in a black pantsuit was standing, holding a transparent clipboard. “hi, are you juni? our new receptionist?” the woman asked. juni nodded. “great! i'm talia, your assistant. just take a seat at the desk and i'll help you get all started and ready.” when juni sat down and set her purse beside her, taking her phone and binder out at setting them on the desk, talia handed her a phone in a pretty pink case. “that is your work phone. everyone’s contact is already on there, so you can contact me if needed. i'll be upstairs in my office. ta ta!” talia smiled, waved, and disappeared in a glass elevator. “wow,” juni mumbled. someone cleared their throat in front of juni. she rushed to turn around and face them. “ashton!” juni exclaimed. “hey baby.” he replied, smiling. “what the hell are you doing here?? who told you i was working here?” she hissed. ashton smirked. “it was all over your socials.” “you stalk me on my socials?” juni’s eyebrows flurried—it was a lot to take in. her ex, ashton, stalked her page and followed her halfway across the world from their home country of australia. “i bought an apartment on the same floor as yours,” ashton took a step closer to the desk. “maybe we can have dinner sometime?” juni blinked, taken back by surprise. ashton had broken up with her, and now he wanted her back? juni smiled, relieved to know he still loved her. “that…that would be nice, ashton. tomorrow night? i know a great all-you-can-eat barbecue close by. i'll text you the details later when i'm off.” ashton grinned. “perfect.” and with that, he left. juni sighed, swinging around in her roller chair. she was going to make it.
