**this is NOT a vent Heyyy everyone!! It has been a little while since we’ve had a chat + a random artwork I have made haha, the last one was with the whole AI situation I mostly just wanted to yap into the void about this but if anyone does read it I would love to know your thoughts! Sustainability in creativity is something I’ve been thinking about for a while as one of FLEUR’s creators. As someone who went through a period of art burnout for probably 2 years straight (~2023-2025), my worst nightmare was burning out because this series. Thankfully it has been very much the opposite and I’ve actually been so much more motivated to draw since starting FLEUR! My style has developed a lot and settled into something I’m very happy with. That being said, with regards to FLEUR It is so so so difficult to post something creative that I know is not my best work!!!!! This is absolutely just me being a perfectionist but there are so many moments in FLEUR where I know I could have taken the time to add more movement or an extra expression or some sound effects, or places where the epilogue animation is frankly wonky and a little bad, but it really is not feasible for me to give 100% of my time and energy to every episode. Frankly I’m already very sick of the series, and I’m glad most of my part is done!! Just have to animate one more episode And I do think this is really just a reality of taking on such a huge creative project like FLEUR. We’re probably going to end up at ~1 hour or more of content by the time the last episode of the main series is released, and who knows where the prequel will end up. There's no way I'd have actually finished the series if I *were* pouring my heart and soul into every single piece of every episode. Aaaaanddd it has pushed me to grow a lot, especially with regards to prioritizing, as someone who unfortunately finds it difficult to *not* pour 110% into everything I do ;v; Going forward I will not be doing something like this again, at least for the foreseeable future lol. FLEUR was incredible and taught me a ton and was super rewarding, but I’m ready to be done with it!! I would like to finally work on and start posting the comic I’ve been developing since 2022, though that most certainly won’t have a consistent upload schedule, and I want to be able to pour more time into voice acting and potentially opening art commissions. I know FLEUR isn’t technicallyyyyy over though this has kind of become a “what’s next” post, but it really feels like it is almost done!! We are on the home stretch, just one short episode to go, and then we’ll be going on hiatus for a few months while the prequel is recorded and put together. It’ll hopefully be releasing November-December. I know I say this a lot but I do want to thank each and every one of you who’s supported myself and in the series!! Even if you’ve only loved and favorited a couple episodes I probably have seen your username in my notification and would recognize it. toodles and love ya'll! <3
