———————————————————————— Please give us a short introduction, including how long you’ve been a member of the studio, your time zone, and your age or age range. Hi! I'm daisy (@halfresponsible). I've been part of dbd since August 2025, however during the school year (2025-2026) I was rarely on dbd because it was my first year of school after years of homeschooling, so it was a huge adjustment. I recently became more active, occasionally popped in during the school year and more as it ended (around may/june). Now that it's summer, I'm on dbd a bit more often. My timezone is Eastern Time, and my age range is 11-15. ———————————————————————— (Optional) Do you have any experience managing communities or similar roles? I was a scratchtober curator, whatever that tells you :> ———————————————————————— Why do you want to become a manager for Different By Design? I feel like the managers there are very friendly and understanding, and not overly strict or controlling, and unlike other studios I've been in, it still feels like they're part of the community and there isn't some huge hierarchy. Also, I just like the aesthetic of the studio, and the general community can be very nice. I've never managed any large chatrooms on scratch before, and I've always wondered what it's like. dbd feels natural and not overly strict and uptight or like a business. ———————————————————————— What do you think being a manager would involve? I think being a manager would involve a lot of discussions about studio improvement, probably frequent hate, learning about leadership with people you can't even see, which is probably not the easiest, a need for clear communication and firmness without being rude, and probably stress about leaving the studio open for hours after the things I've seen that happen while the host is asleep. ———————————————————————— Why do you think you’d make a good manager? I think I'd make a good manager for a couple of reasons. For example, whenever I tell someone they broke a rule I try to be nice about it. For example, rather than being vague and not like I'm talking to a person like "-1, you broke a rule", I say something like "rule [rule number] please" and if they say "ohh sorry I didn't know" I'd say something like "nah it's okay twin dw about it". If I break a rule, when I'm told about it, I apologise and say it was an accident. I've also been cyberbullied before and went through tons of drama, so I have firsthand experience with drama. I also used to be a griffpatcher, and they got probably the worst trolls, so I've seen how bad things can get. I used to be a gwdfi-er, and I saw that close down, so I understand how important it is to make sure a studio stays stable, and I've seen where things can go. I've seen how dbd started, which was quite rough, and how far we've gotten, and I've been part of dbd so long I'm on the first curator page (on this account). I've removed 50+ spam projects from gwdfi before and warned gaehive managers about spammers that could go for them next. I'm part of gde, and we often get preachers, so I've seen things go down there too. ———————————————————————— Are there any downsides or weaknesses you think you’d have as a manager? I think some of my downsides could be that I'm not great with time management, so I might end up not always being online because I have to do stuff that I procrastinated on (._.) and I've never managed anything before, so I don't have much experience. Additionally, I struggle to help or help too much and get concerned about people with severe depression who are going through something serious and are posting very concerning comments, and I can sometimes try to help them when I know I probably can't, and it's generally not good for anyone's mental health when I'm a kid trying to help someone going through something serious who probably doesn't want to listen to me. This is something I'm working on, it's just very difficult for me. ———————————————————————— What are some ideas you have for improving the studio? - Intro hour monthly so new users can get to know the studio better - Game hour on weekends (Saturday evenings maybe?) - Random lore hour, maybe monthly? (Posting random dumb stories or crazy things no one could ever guess about you) ———————————————————————— What is your availability and activity level (ideally on a scale from 1–10)? (Yap below!! About 8/10 availability and activity outside of school and sleep, more like 8.5 on weekends) My availability level is probably pretty high considering the fact that everyone goes to school and sleeps, and I frequently check scratch (sometimes in the morning and also almost always after school unless I have a club or something) and if needed I could check scratch on my chromebook during host shifts (especially if I'm a club) I'd just rather not unless absolutely necessary, because during the school day, my main focus is school. ————————————————————————
———————————————————————— Bonus question - What makes you different from other applicants? I've been on DBD for a while now, and I've also been in grifftopia and gwdfi, so I've seen different types of scratch chatrooms, how they can go downhill and how they can change, as well as some of the worst trolls, so I'm aware of the things that can happen in dbd. I used to be a bit of a "community helper" - I'd reply to comments on ceebee's profile, I was a pptbf curator, and, as mentioned before, a scratchtober curator. ———————————————————————— Application above! - Applying for @halfresponsible. I don't like posting projects on my main - Yes, I know that was long, I got into flow state - I have a habit of sounding overly formal in these, by the way - I know I practically wrote an ESSAY on why id be a good manager but I don't have a big ego trust ☹️ I just have a case to make /silly
