[ Hi there, I'm sailor. I also go by cheshire, and use any pronouns. I've been a part of DBD for about three to four months now, my timezone is EST though I'm always up pretty late. And I'm 13-16. You may also know me by my old main @-_incarnate_- I was a little hesitant on sharing this application but I'll be very happy if I'm chosen. On another note, thank you for reading this application and good luck to everyone else who applied <3 ] • Do you have any experience managing communities or similar roles? [ I've managed a few roleplays and groups on-site and off-site and I'm currently a manager for hannissas new chatroom. ] • Why do you want to become a manager for Different By Design? [ I've grown attached to the studio and the people that chat in it, and would like to help out and make it a better place by helping out with rule breaks, preventing rule breaks, interacting with the community and welcoming new people. ] • What do you think being a manager would involve? [ patience. a lot of it. possibly more than the average person can handle. trolls, rule-breaks, disrespect, bots. it's all very hard to deal with. It's a struggle, and it can be very stressful at times. you need a level head and to be good enough under pressure to control a studio full of people who may or may not take you seriously. But it also involves teamwork, working with your fellow managers, working with the community to make things work out better for all of us, and its very rewarding when everything turns out for the better, and the good times far outweigh the bad in the end. ] • Why do you think you’d make a good manager? [ I'm good at being patient with people, I'm good at explaining which rules do what, I'm on every day for a large amount of time (usually at absurd hours of the night), I'm great working with a team and I think I have a good grasp of the community & what it needs. I'm fairly certain I'm a kind person, maybe a little too kind at times but kind nonetheless and I treat everyone with respect, even if they've haven't done quite the same for me. ] • Are there any downsides or weaknesses you think you’d have as a manager? [ I'm bad with confrontation, and I have a very hard time participating in heavy debates or arguments especially with people I don't know very well. I also have a comically low self esteem, I try to hide it the best I can but I know I can get a little negative sometimes. I'm working on it. I'm also pretty stubborn and find it hard to stop interacting with a problem until its gone sometimes, even if stopping would make it go away. ] • What are some ideas you have for improving the studio? [ I have a lot of ideas on studio-wide events we could do.. I also think my favorite thing about DBD is the fact that the managers really listen to other dbders to make the studio a better place and think we should open suggestions on making the studio even better. One of the things I would suggest is a way to up the design delay whenever the studios being positive so it lowers a bit slower. ] • What is your availability and activity level (ideally on a scale from 1–10)? [ I'm usually on from 10pm-3am EST and also on random chunks of the day, usually in between 11am to 3pm for short bursts. I'd say a 8/10 with a 6/10 on some days where I'm busier. ] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Applications will stay open until August 5th, 2026 at 11:59pm IST (Irish Standard Time).
