Credit to Sonik, Random Talking Bush and rotodisco on The Spriter's Resource for the base sprite rips. I still don't know who made the 8-bit operator text script though. CHANGELOG: - 12/13/16: Initial release - 12/14/16: Fixed some bugs with the button presses and increased the rewards from some enemies. - 12/19/16: Added two new battles; a Bowser Jr. fight and a rematch with Dry Bones. Both are boss enemies, so watch out! - 12/24/16: FINALLY patched the 'G is a number' glitch! Shoutout to @DanloVorje for helping me out. - 12/26/16: Added a new final boss, accessed by waiting on the end screen for around 10 seconds. - 12/26/16: Starter the 'Power-Up-date' with the Racoon Leaf! This Power-Up gives you a chance to counter one enemy attack, but it doesn't work at all if the enemy is too fast or powerful. This update is a response to @Mikauo's suggestion. - 12/28/16: Power-Up-date Part 2! Power-Up added: Fire Flower Effects: Launches a powerful projectile attack which deals 10 damage. However, it can be deflected if the enemy defends, and some enemies are immune anyway. - 12/29/16: Fixed a bug where the enemy wouldn't attack after a fireball was successfully thrown. - 12/29/16: Fixed a bug where parts of the Power-Up menu wouldn't be hidden when the player checks the battle status. - 12/29/16: Fixed a bug where the Racoon Leaf Power-Up wouldn't dissipate if the enemy defends. This time I tried going for a 'bootleg NES game' style, hence I recoloured sprites from various games to fit the palette of the NES (mostly) and made my own music on Famitracker using the 2A03 and VRC6 chips. For the gameplay, I drew inspiration from Final Fantasy - and as you can tell from the animations I used a really old-school one for reference - and Super Boy, the jittery MSX Mario bootleg which sorta became it's own thing. Sorta. Aside from that, it's just a silly little thing. Nothing too complex, but not too simple either. You may use the battle engine in your own games as long as you give credit. One more thing - BE WARNED. This game can get VERY RNG.
