okay so last night nearing midnight, i heard a series of about four explosions in a span of perhaps fifteen minutes, then the sound of sirens almost immediately after. legit they sounded like those little firecrackers that you throw at the ground to pop but like ten times bigger so this evening i check the news for my area because i was a bit worried about everything (and the fact that my aunt was talking about fires over breakfast was making it worse) AND THIS ARTICLE POPS UP https://www.kenyans.co.ke/news/125254-several-businesses-destroyed-after-fire-breaks-out-langata-nairobi so i read through it and i'm like "...bro that sounds bad" "wait rubia???" "that's like what- a fifteen minutes' walk from here-" "W H A T -" and then i come across the bit that talks about the explosions and i'm like "...i heard THOSE WHAT THE FLIP" get me out of here bro <- accurate depiction of how i felt tbh no casualties have been reported or anything though and the fire was handled so that's good but still it's pretty unsettling news
