I'm @MidnightRoleplayer . You can call me May or Midnight. I'm afab and use the pronouns she/her. I'm on the younger side of being a teen. I enjoy writing and read far too much, so rping is right up my alley. I've been in gens before and am trying to get back into it! I love to chat and meet new people, but I am very awkward online. I'm neurodivergent, with adhd and anxiety, though neither affect me too badly. ꢾ꣒ My "past characters" list is somewhat short, with only two cats, Melodydawn and Webby. Mel was an Urchinclan cat, who was exiled by Marlinstar and eventually joined Flurryclan. I really loved rping with her and was quite sad when she died of old age. After a while, I found a loner kitten I liked: Webby. I was determined to make her strong and to grid a lot. However, this was pretty stressful and sucked the fun out of Gens. For my mental health, I ended up quitting. Now I am trying to get back into it with a nice, lowkey character. ❝And you always say I'm never satisfied❞ ─── ˖ ⋆⊹ ᧔♡᧓ ⊹⋆ ˖ ─── why mocha? ꢾ꣒ I've been looking for a kittypet, but none of the litters in the litterhub caught my eye. I started looking at the litters submitted for review and found this one. Both kits are SO ADORABLE and I could not resist. Seeing as I have already had a character named Melody, Mocha was the perfect choice. ❝But I don't think that's true❞ ─── ˖ ⋆⊹ ᧔♡᧓ ⊹⋆ ˖ ─── mocha's personality ꢾ꣒ Positive ᵋᵌ Empathetic -- Moe has a tendency to put herself in other cat's shoes and try to empathize with them. She always wants to make sure to try to know what a cat might be feeling before she speaks with them. ᵋᵌ Open-minded -- Mocha doesn't really have beliefs beyond that the best thing in life to do is to help other cats and is willing to learn about and adopt others' beliefs. She tries not to have prejudice about anyone and just is open to new ideas in general. ᵋᵌ Kindhearted -- There's nothing that makes Mochi feel better than making another cat happy. Part of her is always wondering whether she's good enough and this always helps. Moe just can't see a cat in trouble and not help! ꢾ꣒ Neutral ᵋᵌ Logical -- Mocha's mind is quite logical. She always addresses any situation by listing all the pieces, how they fit together, and how she comes into it. It makes her a bit slow at decisions at times, but she can't really do it any other way, not with her mind. ᵋᵌ Cautious -- Momo doesn't care for rushing into things head on. She observes, waits, then decides. She just wants to make sure that it'll all turn out okay. ᵋᵌ Shy -- Cha doesn't really like to talk to other cats, not new ones, at least. She feels all squirmy inside and like everything just feels so hard! Once she knows a cat, things get easier... but not always. ꢾ꣒ Negative ᵋᵌ Insecure -- Mocha's inner voice often tells her that she's not good enough, that she needs to be perfect. While she does try to ignore that voice, she can't for long. ᵋᵌ Eager to please -- The thing that Moe wants most is to be liked, to be loved. She wants to be the sort of cat that others adore. This causes her to eagerly do what other cats want... whatever the price. ᵋᵌ Self-destructive - Cha wants to be loved much more than she loves herself. She'll do what it takes to be perfect. She can take care of herself later.
❝Cause all I ever wanted was to be enough for you❞ ─── ˖ ⋆⊹ ᧔♡᧓ ⊹⋆ ˖ ─── research ꢾ꣒ The personality I imagined for Mocha came unannounced; I had no plans until it just bloomed in my head. This personality brought with it some research: Anxiety. As a person with anxiety, an many family members with anxiety (especially social anxiety), I know quite a bit about it. ᵋᵌ What is it? -- Anxiety is a mental health condition that causes the sort of survival messages the brain gives us--like "don't touch that fire" or "stay away from the cliff"--to be much worse than normal, making life harder instead of protecting you. There are many types of anxiety disorders, but Mocha has Generalized Anxiety Disorder, or GAD. GAD causes fear, worry and feeling of being overwhelmed. includes persistent and excessive anxiety and worry about activities or events — even ordinary, routine issues. The worry is out of proportion to the actual circumstance, is difficult to control and affects how you feel physically. ᵋᵌ How does it affect Mocha? -- Mochi will worry excessively about whether or not she's good enough. She will try her best to always do what other cats want, especially ones she cares for. Moe's anxiety will cause her to hide everything about herself that another cat might not want, just so that she doesn't have to worry about what they think of her. This is where my application's title comes from--Mocha is always anxious about being enough for others, herself, and everything in general. As anxiety can often lead to depression, she may end up with depression depending on what sort of things happen to her. ᵋᵌ Sources -- To save description space, sources are listed inside project. ❝Yeah, all I ever wanted was to be enough for you❞ ─── ˖ ⋆⊹ ᧔♡᧓ ⊹⋆ ˖ ─── trivia / everything else ꢾ꣒ You may have noticed that I left some things out, things that are pretty standard. Don't worry! They're all here. ᵋᵌ Sexuality -- Moe won't really care about which cats she likes until mid-apprentice age. She'll quickly realize that she is not straight and settle upon pansexual: 60% female 15% male 25% other ᵋᵌ Pronouns -- Mocha will be she/her for as long as I can foresee, though this might change as lore develops. ᵋᵌ Twolegs -- Since Mocha will have twolegs, and I'd like to reference them IRP, I've decided that she'll live with and adult women and her two children: a 12-year-ld girl and a 2-year-old boy. She'll refer to them as "The Woman", "The Girl", and "The Menace". Mochi will be fond of The Woman, though she'll like The Girl best. I may draw the Twolegs later. ᵋᵌ Future Plans -- I want to focus on relationships and lore with Mocha. During her kit years, I want her to explore the Twolegplace and meet other kits. At around six moons old, Momo will "discover" the clans and Border area. I hope to have her make friends with some clan cats. Depending on how that goes, she may move to a clan or even become a loner. I really hope to find her a mate and get some kits.
