The Ultimate Shapeshifter Real name: Ren Kagemori (影森) — "Kage" (shadow) and "mori" (forest). Fake name: Mikoto Kagami (鏡) — "Kagami" means "mirror.” Kagemori → someone concealed in the shadows. Kagami → someone who only shows a reflection. That contrast ties into her character arc. She starts the killing game hiding behind "Mikoto Kagami," but over time has to decide whether she's willing to be Ren Kagemori. The other students start noticing little inconsistencies. Players might wonder, "Who is Mikoto Kagami, actually?" long before they learn she's actually Ren Kagemori. She's so used to becoming other people that she hesitates even when asked simple personal questions. For example: "What's your favorite food?" She freezes for a second because she's trying to remember her favorite, not someone else's. Little moments like that can make players curious without giving the twist away. She has habits that make her stand out. For example: She’s very quiet, and barely speaks at meals and trials. She avoids getting close to the others because she believes someone will eventually die—whether by her hand or someone else's. She’s an excellent liar... but terrible at expressing sincere emotions. Since she's an Ultimate Shapeshifter, she has one tiny habit she can't fake. Every disguise is perfect...except she always taps her thumb against her index finger when she's thinking. She always tilts her head the same way. She always unconsciously says "Hmm..." before answering someone. Players wouldn't notice it at first, but after the reveal they could realize: "Every identity she ever used had that exact same habit." Appearance Long green (hex code: #006400. Background I usually put time into most of my oc’s lore but with Ren no one really knows where she came from. Makoto once asked her what she did before they got trapped in hope’s peak and she said "I was nothing before I learned I could be anyone…SO BACK OFF!" That hinted a little more at who she actually was. By the time of the next trial, Makoto had figured out everything. Execution Mirrors surround her, each reflecting a different version of herself, until the reflections shatter. (kinda like gangle’s punishment in ep 8 of tadc) The audience can't tell which "Ren" is real anymore, and eventually there isn't one. Each mirror shows a different version of Ren. It doesn't show anyone. It's empty. Ren realizes... She doesn't know who she's supposed to become anymore. Then the final mirror breaks. Glass shatters everywhere, stabbing her to death. Last words to everyone “You found me out. People always ask who I really am, like Makoto. The truth is... I stopped knowing a long time ago.” Last words during execution "No...No, please...I don't want to disappear… I’m sorry Mukuro” (One time she shapeshifted into Junko and killed Mukuro)
