I think i'd be lying if i told you that finding a new alternate basis for her was easy, since i'm not a fan of converting a Narrow Gauge engine onto a Standard gauge line, because in Sodor's case, it'd be easier to just send Nia to the Skarloey Railway. I was also considering making her a Garratt, however almost all of them are 4-8-2+4-8-2 or longer, which i think is a bit too big for a character like Nia. I decided to go with the EAR Class 13, a Metre Gauge 4-8-2T which got updated into a 4-8-4T due to having a tendency to derail while reversing, the bogies being salvaged from Garratts, oh the irony! The member 1315 - the one my Nia is - was a Nairobi Railway Museum exhibit for many years, until she was checked in 1996 and found out to be in a need of a new boiler. While the real engine was removed, in my book during the same time, a North Western Railway worker known as Sid was on vacation in Kenya and decided to quickly react by sending her to Sodor instead. Nowadays Nia is considered the Largest Tank Engine on Sodor!
