It was raining…hard. Wind whipped at her face carrying ocean spray with it. Despite the rain soaking through her fur like little pinpricks of ice and the spray chilling her to the bones, she needed to check on her tidepool. She had been nursing a starfish, Kelpie she had named it, back to health. The poor little thing had been washed up on shore and couldn’t get back to the ocean, cuts had been all over it and half of one of its arms was missing. She had come to her tide pool every day at dawn and dusk to check on it. Today was supposed to be the day that Kelpie was ready to be released! The thought of that warmed her a bit. When she arrived at the tidepool she inspected Kelpie, no more cuts and its arm was healed, pleased with herself. Curi scooped up the starfish in her right paw and hobbled as quickly as she could to the ocean. ‘I’ll probably have to get a bit farther out so Kelpie doesn’t get washed back up’ she thought and dove in. Blinking a bit she oriented herself before seeing a spot with tons of rocks and sea grass. Kicking back with her legs she rocketed forward and……….right into the riptide. Kelpie was yanked from her paw as she was dragged down and away. Even some of the strongest warriors had been taken by the riptide. She screamed. No no no no, this wasn’t how it was supposed to happen! She kicked and flailed to no avail the tide was too strong. She was slammed into a rock, bl00d tainted her wake red. The current tossed her around smacking her against rocks. Ha! How ironic CURRENTear dr0wning because of a CURRENT. Her lungs hurt. Her head hurt. Everything hurt, hurt, hurt. She wanted it to stop. But at the same time she didn’t want it to stop, because if it stopped hurting then she was de. At some point she had been washed back up on an unfamiliar part of the beach. Maybe, maybe Starclan won’t be too bad. Maybe she could finish her rangerhood. But did she want that? Did she truly want to follow the Dark Forest? No, not really. maybe she would go to Starclan and maybe just maybe they would let her train as a Starclan warrior and work off the Dark Forest there. But she was so, so, so, so tired she couldn’t train like this. Maybe if she took a nap she would feel better. Her eyelids drooped closed. Maybe, maybe….maybe………………..maybe. [END]
note: this pained me to write, but I felt I was being unfair to poor Currentear for being inactive for a over 3 months and I know Im going to be inactive again soon for another month. My heart hurts because this was the first and only of my characters to get to be past an apprentice but I wanted to be active and give her xp and roleplay with her more. Therefore, I feel like I’ve been very unfair to her and I feel like she deserves to rest)
