cer·vid noun . a mammal of the deer family (Cervidae). _________________________ 1. welcome all, to The Cervid, a loner group created by Glacial with one intention - to ensure the balance of nature stays steady. as well as help out a little when things are severly...lacking. and to help the clans when needed, because really...are they ever stable?
2. - ranks. fawn/calf - the youngest of the group. ( usually below or at 6 moons ) they have yet to prove themselves. yearling - still young, but able to make decisions...somewhat reasonably. they still have to prove themselves to the group. ( 6-12 moons ) buck/doe/pricket - the juveniles and adults of the group, who have proven themselves able to handle the responsibilities of caring for nature and all its inhabitants. stag/antler - the oldest group members, whether that be by knowledge or age. they teach the ranks below them the ways of the group, guiding the next generation. 3. THE ANTLER/WHITETAIL TRIALS. so, you've made it past the early stages, have you? well, more awaits. to be addressed as a full member of the group, you have to complete 1/2 simple trials. the first being, to nurture something back to health/or raise it. ( ie. a flower, plant, animal, etc ) or, to go the riskier path - and challenging one of the older members to a duel. you see, this group is very, very deer-like. so, of course they would have antlers as well. it's simple, win the duel or nurture something. easy, really. 4. way of life/extra info in this group, which is named after deer - they have something special to indicate that they are part of the group. whilst completely optional, members or those yet to be members, may wear antlers/plants of some sort. whether that be twigs or branches. or, they wear a flower crown adorned with flower that represent them, their life, and who they are. flower bracelets/bands work as well. albeit being protectors of nature, they of course have to eat prey, as any cat does. they do not make a point out of this, and at times, try to avoid doing it. the group values kits, and considers them a blessing. so, they raise kits as a group, especially orphans. the members ( or mostly older ones ) do not speak much to outsiders or, more specifically...clan cats. They prefer to remain silent guardians, who only speak when needed. the group is not limited to loners only, and will gladly accept kittypets, clancats, and former clancats. the cervid is mainly pacifist who find talking easier than vio1ence. unless to prove oneself, of course. then, talking is useless. 5. where they are located they reside on H3 on the map, between the Frigid Peaks & Lake of Longing. there, they live in an empty underground cave, that has about a million tunnels and hideouts inside. the different shade of moss on each den represents its use. flower also help to differentiate the dens. blue & yellow are used for adult/juvenile members. while pink is used for the elder members, blue pawprints for the kit den. that last den, being the den for 6-12 moon olds, looks the simplest. 6. titles you see, the cervid does not use normal names, like the clans. they prefer names that /they/ can choose, which represent themselves as a whole. so, upon entering the group, one can choose to change their name or title. the title will be something along the lines of the valiant buck, the white stag, or simpler.
