Most of you are wrong about your timezones. (Listing American timezones as examples, but this applies to non-americans too) You are not in EST, CST, MST, or PST year round. Only when you don't have daylight savings. You are in EDT, CDT, MDT, or PDT. And year round, you can say ET, CT, MT, or PT. I used to not know EST and EDT were the same timezone for different parts of the year, and that ET was year round. I though they were all different. The "Standard" is there to show that it's without the hour jump of "Daylight". It's not to sound fancy. If you are in daylight savings, it's a D instead of an S. You can also just scrap the letter entirely, like I'm in EDT as I'm writing this but just saying "Eastern Time" means it's correct year round and takes less brain.
