Update with WM Harvest Season For those of you less familiar with western disciplines, Western Trail, often just called Trail, is a discipline where the horse and rider do almost like an obstacle course basically, and the horse and rider are judged based on accuracy, smoothness, and precision rather than it being a timed event. In-Hand trail is the same but not ridden. So, that’s what I decided to do with Eloise (and soon Lionel) today so that we could all have a interesting thing in our lives. (Walking over a few poles gets really repetitive, and while it is important for the horse Eloise and Lionel are mature enough and good enough under lead to do something slightly more complicated.) I kept the course pretty simple as Eloise is young, but it was still fun for both of us. Eloise was great and I could tell she was having lots of fun. We even did a very small jump at the end (slightly shorter than your average cross rail, slighter higher than a ground pole) We only did the course once, but that was enough for today.
