yo could I get some cover art from some artist PLS I NEED IT ILL DO ANYTHINGGG TG WARNING: Mentions of g*ns, kn*v*s, and bl**d SKYLAR-AGE: 15 I held my breath as I slowly lifted my shotgun, Striker—Yes I named my gun, deal with it—up, and aimed in the direction of my prey. I slowly pulled the trigger. A sharp bang! And my efforts were rewarded with a shrill squeal. I rushed forward through the tall grasses while pulling out my pocketknife, Vengeance, and swiftly cut the throat of my prize. I studied the mourning dove. It was small, yes, but I was really running low in my store and needed whatever I could get. I added it to my bag, where the two quail and one other dove would accompany it to my fridge. I trudged through Chesley Meadow on my way home. The tall, stiff grass brushing my legs as the sun set over the trees in the distance. Casting long shadows over the world. Slowly, the city of Tradepti grew bigger and bigger, till I finally reached Street 534. My Street. I walked by the saddest, ugliest wooden houses in the world. Streets like mine were reserved for the poorest families around. Lucky me. I reached my house just as the sun dipped below the horizon. My house might be small, yes. It might only have a fridge, stove, sink, and toilet. Yes. It might only have wooden furniture, and a singular blanket and pillow. Yes. But it was mine. Mine ever since my parents left me at age five. When I got my first Blooding. The Bloodlier, the doctor who takes your blood and tells the parents the type, had to break the news to me. When kids reach age five, their blood matures, and they get it tested to see what Sector they will fight in. There are ten different classes of blood, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. Then there are white and red types of each class. The best class you can be in is Alpha. They train you in flying hoverfighters, or Flicks. You can also be trained to fly snipers and bomber planes. The Beta class is trained in Grounded Guns, GGs. They’re just gun towers that shoot down enemy planes. Gamma class gets to ride Cyber Motion Bikes, or CMBs. They can teleport to other Contiets and perform small raids. They often take Exprentars, the Epsilon class, Foot Soldiers. The Delta class is the SIF. Stealth Immission Force. They are usually used to steal information. Red and white determines whether or not you will be in a primarily offensive or defensive group. You will be trained in both, but one more than the other. Every kid has two Bloodings, one when they are five, and one when they are fifteen. The former because that is when the blood is fully mature, and some families like to train their kids early in their Sector. And the latter because the data isn’t saved from the first. Stupid. I know. I have my second Blooding two days from now. I was not allowed to know what my blood type was from my first Blooding, the parents decide what to tell their child after the first Blooding. And mine decided to leave. I made my way over to the side of the house with the stove and fridge. My house had two rooms, the bathroom, and the living/sleeping/cooking room. I turned on the stove so it could heat up, then I began skinning and gutting my birds. I shiver, with the little electricity I have, I save it for the fridge and stove. The city of Tradepti is just like all the other cities in Agnar, meaning it has an… interesting system going on here. Meaning, the rich people live in the inner streets—Streets like Street 20, and Street 7—Poor people, like orphans, live in the outer streets—Street 465, and Street 287—With noticeably worse housing. Everyone has free access to schooling, hospitals, and things like Blooding. So it wouldn’t be all that bad, but… Well, your parents leave you, and you kinda get a bit of a bad reputation. I toss one of the prepared quail onto the stove and store the rest in the fridge. Life wouldn’t be so bad. I think while eating my quail. If it weren’t for school. Everyone knows the orphan girl, everyone hates her. I have no friends, none. Zip. Nada. So yeah. Welcome to my life.
