GUYYSSS. CAMP. WAS. AMAZINGGGGGggggggg. JESUS IS AWESOME. I PLAYED IN TEAM COMPETITIONS, GOT TO TACKLE PPL INTO THE GROUND, GOT PRAYED FOR, CRIED A LOT OUT OF HAPPINESS (CUZ JESUS IS AWESOME), AND BASICALLY CAMP WAS SUPER DUPER AMAZING. SOOOOOoooooo the camp I went to was a Christian youth camp that goes on for a whole six days. You stay in cabins and listen to sermons (lessons about God), and play team competitions based on the theme. The Bible theme was FULL. becuz the camp was FULL this year lol. And the game theme was STAR WARS. One of my favorite youth pastors was the villian this year. He was known as Darth Victus. We played games to beat him and there were 22 teams in all. 11 teams on the light side and 11 teams on the dark side. By the end of the week there is one night game and that was a massive light saber battle. Did I win? Nope. I got... guess what? 22nd place! :DD but last year I got first so I guess its just Jesus teaching me about being humble hehe... Anyways besides the games I definitely felt the Lord while I was there at camp. I cried during worship on the last night out of joy because just before that we had done discuion in groups about things we needed prayer for. At first I was too afraid to tell my leader and friend (my group was just two ppl) about what I've been struggling with for a very long time. But once I did I started getting emotional. Did they make fun of me and tell me that I was a horrible person for doing what I did? No. They comforted me, encoraged me, and we all prayed together. Jesus is so good and He loves you so very much. Did you know that he died on the cross for you? He did that because He loves you and will never stop loving you. No matter who you are, what you've done, He still chose to die for you. Because He. loves. you. I just wanted to tell you all this because I've learned some really valuable from camp. One of the sermons one afternoon had something called The Keys to Life and they were these 3 things. The Keys to Life 1. Read your bible 2. Pray 3. Surround yourself with a community that sharpens you And another pastor's sermon compared our relationship with Jesus like him and his wife. Lets say his name is Bob. If Bob only spends time with his wife on Sundays does that sound like a healthy relationship? No. not at all. I learned that I could not just go to church and only spend time with Jesus on Sunday. I needed to spend time with Him everyday. How would you feel if you had a friend who only ever spoke to you once a week or maybe even once a year? I've grownup in a Christian household, meaning that my parents follow Jesus and that I've known ABOUT Him my entire life but I always felt like I didn't really KNOW Him. "The Keys to Life" and "Bob's" sermon really opened my eyes. I hadn't been reading my bible everyday. I had not been making time for my Lord and Savior. I had not been surrounding myself with a community that would sharpen me and could encourage me in my walk with Christ Jesus. So I want to encourage you and let you know that YOU are loved. YOU are amazing. And that Jesus loves YOU. If my words were any encouragement to you today and you want a relationship with Jesus then I encourage you to find a church, a community to strengthen you, a Bible, and pray. Jesus is always available to talk with you when you need Him. Here is my camp's verse for the week before you go The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Hope everyone of y'all have a wonderful and blessed day. Jesus loves you very much. <3
