── ⋅ ── Deltaclan Territory Guide The heart of Deltaclan is neither forest nor field, but water. Their territory is an immense network of winding rivers, marshes, flooded forests, quiet lagoons, reed beds, willow groves, and sprawling deltas where dozens of waterways split apart before joining together again. Dry land exists, but it is rarely uninterrupted for long. Most trails cross streams, shallow channels, or wetlands, and nearly every destination can be reached faster by swimming than by walking. To outsiders, the territory feels confusing and ever-changing. Rivers carve new paths after every flood, islands appear and disappear with the seasons, and landmarks often look completely different depending on the water level. Yet to Deltaclan, every current tells them exactly where they are. ── ⋅ ── The Land The waterways of Deltaclan are constantly moving. Broad rivers divide into smaller channels before feeding quiet marshes filled with cattails, lilies, reeds, and willow trees. Countless islands dot the landscape, ranging from tiny sandbars to forests large enough to hold entire patrols. Many parts of the territory are permanently flooded, creating shallow forests where tree trunks rise directly from the water. Fallen logs naturally form bridges, while generations of Watercats have added woven crossings, docks, and elevated walkways that connect the larger islands together. Nothing here remains exactly the same for long. ── ⋅ ── Climate Deltaclan experiences one of the wettest climates in Eldritch. • Frequent rain throughout every season • Heavy morning fog • Mild summers • Cool evenings • Seasonal flooding during newleaf • Frozen rivers and drifting ice during leaf-bare ── ⋅ ── Traveling Travel through Deltaclan is easiest by water. Nearly every major river eventually connects to another part of Eldritch, making the waterways natural highways for patrols and envoys. Watercats often swim long distances before briefly traveling over land to reach neighboring territories. Visitors unfamiliar with the rivers are almost always escorted. Without a guide, it is remarkably easy to become stranded among endless channels or accidentally circle back to where you began. Hidden beneath the surface are old stone crossings, shallow fords, and woven reed bridges known only to the clan. ── ⋅ ── Notable Landmarks ✧ Nerath Reach The widest stretch of river in Eldritch. During calm weather, its surface becomes nearly mirror-like, reflecting the sky so perfectly that the horizon seems to disappear. ✧ The Hollow Reeds An enormous marsh where towering reeds sway high above the water. Constant winds cause the hollow stalks to sing softly throughout the day. Many apprentices learn to navigate here. ✧ Vaelor Pools A chain of impossibly clear spring-fed pools connected beneath the riverbed. Their water is so transparent that fish appear to float through empty air. ✧ The Sleeping Willows A flooded grove of ancient willow trees whose roots disappear into dark water. The branches hang so low they brush the river's surface year-round. Many ceremonies are held beneath these trees. ✧ Glasswater Crossing A broad, shallow section of river where smooth white stones line the bottom. During Greenleaf the water becomes almost perfectly transparent. ✧ Mirefen An ancient wetland of floating moss islands, hidden channels, and soft peat banks. Many creatures make their homes here, though few outsiders ever find the same path twice. ✧ The Moonmirror A perfectly circular lagoon surrounded by reeds and white lilies. During the full moon its waters become so still that every star appears twice. Many believe Nyrith watches this place closely.

Kits learn to swim almost as soon as they can walk. Warriors memorize currents the way other clans memorize trails, reading ripples, scents, and changing water levels with remarkable accuracy. Fishing is considered both a necessity and an art, and many patrols spend as much time beneath the surface as above it. The clan's villages rest upon natural islands connected by woven bridges, floating platforms, and raised walkways. Supplies are stored in waterproof pouches, shell containers, and underwater caches hidden beneath roots and stone. To outsiders, the rivers seem impossible to understand. To Deltaclan, they are living roads, faithful companions, and the oldest storytellers in all of Eldritch. Every current carries a memory. Every river finds its way home.
