[goofy wholesome oneshot i came up with:] Will fidgeted with the new kandi bracelet on his left wrist, his eyes widening with wonder at the plethora of colors. Mike sat off in a corner of the shed, knees curled in on himself, seeming intent on picking at his cuticles. He was starting to draw blood, though he hardly felt it, his unfocused gaze penetrating the south wall. The two had come across the rundown shed (which was more of a shack) a few hours prior, and had spent most of the evening gathering supplies and creating traps. Now, as the sun was beginning to set, Mike had wordlessly walked over and bestowed (deposited, more accurately) the small string of beads in Will's lap before collapsing against the side of the shed, exhausted. Will finally glanced over at the other boy, his face reddening. "...You made this?" Mike's head snapped up, his bloodshot eyes instantly fixing themselves on Will with an almost accusatory glare. "What? No. I mean, yeah, but I just..." He scoffed and shifted further away, if that was even possible, considering the distance he'd already drawn between the two of them. "I just strung some crap together. It's, like, trash, 'cuz...trash sucks, and...you're trash...." He rambled, trailing off weakly. Will blinked, looking back down at the bracelet before letting his gaze drift back to Mike's face, which was now equally as red as his. He swallowed, unsure of a proper response in the moment, (he actually remembered-?!) before Mike interjected, "Don't get any ideas, okay? I shouldn't have given you anything. It's not like your birthday's that important. I can't believe I even got stuck here with you. You're the worst person I've ever--" "Thank you." Will whispered under his breath, leaning back against the shed wall and burying his face in his hands to hide his flustered state. His irritation rapidly dissipating, Mike snuck a brief glance at the other boy, something flickering in his eyes before settling into an unusual, momentary softness. "Yeah..." He murmured, lifting his sleeve to peek at the matching bracelet on his own arm and quickly concealing it again before Will looked back. "...don't get any ideas."
