there is gf it’s roxette but she is called Roxi she was adopted at 6 years old by an evil scientist looking for an innocent cover to hide the fact he tests on and kills people through mutation Roxi spends her childhood being tested on and manipulated yet lies to the world Shes fine so her father can’t kill her. roxi was expected to meet everyone of the test subjects and learn there best qualities before there death making her carry the greif and burden of ones she loved snd constantly comparing kind people dying to someone she deems worthless living on. Roxi enters a deep depression she carries into her adult years but her habit of lying stayed and protects her from getting close to anyone else. inside her mind is a battle against herself forever wanting to die but not because if she dies worthless Shes a failure but if she lives, Shes misrable. To cope with this constant back in forth Roxi often listens to extremely intense music at extremely loud volumes to attempt and block out her inner monologue and tho it works she will eventually get trapped in a loop where she slowly goes deaf and music won’t help any longer. She also draws but her drawings are often highly graphic pictures of things she wants to get out of her hesd. She rips up most of her pieces when done and throws them away because not only does she hate herself snd the drawings but she wants no one else to see them. and then theres her bf Aaron was born with a rare genetic mutation that caused him to have an invincible immune system. he lived a normal life until discovered by roxi’s father when he was 15. he missed 50 percent of school but if he spoke up he was killed of course it really isn’t hard for him to be quiet he’s a day dreaming introvert who dreams of leaving people forever snd just floating by himself endlessly. roxi’s father tested on him only to never see affects when in reality Aaron just lacks the social skills to say he feels the physical pain. weird enough he knew Roxi before he knew her name, they just lived as strangers floating past each other for 6 years, Aaron is half of the cause of the dull pain between him and Roxi, admiring her for staying strong and “being fine” oblivious of how she feels on the inside thanks to the protection of living inside his own head. Roxi actually admires Aaron’s “pure strength” not saying anything no matter how much the tests hurt. His relationship with Roxi is built on pure unearned trust lies and shared trauma . When Aaron “day dreams” he doesn’t dream of a better reality he just drifts off into darkness because he was born with strange nerve connection that makes his head into a sensory deprivation chamber basically. His senses of sight hearing smell and taste all disappear temporarily and his only anchor back to reality is a faint muted sense of touch from the lab chemicals. His brain also “lags” causing him to have 10-30 seconds before realisng touch in a day dream then we have orchid (the fan favorite woo!) orchid was named in a society where plants don’t grow anymore snd are rare so parents name there children after plants to remember the world they’re once was. orchid was a normal kid until age 5 when she was infected with an illness that was supposed to clear up in a few months. thanks to the still flawed future medical system a miscalculation was made in the medicine weakining her snd making her contract many other dieseases once she finally got out of the hospital 13 years later after almost dying several times she refuses to listen, refuses to stop moving and wants to take charge of everything. shes finally happy lives life moves on finds a girlfriend in a homophobic unexcepting society where her parents disown her. made of pure adrenaline and hate orchid stops caring and lives her own way not caring about others any more, Shes still social but doesnt give a fork if you don’t like her. When she grew up she decided although she didn’t have a lot of education, to work in the safety department in the lab to fix the flawed medical system she knows more about than anyone. Orchid willingly gets tested on everyday just so people she doesn’t know can have the childhood she didn’t. Orchid enjoys teasing people about how much easier they had it compared to her almost dying several times and being robbed of a childhood. However behind her sometimes relentless roasting and bullying is a large worry. Shes afraid that if she doesn’t tease them about dangerous things they do they will end up like her in a hospital where she thinks they can’t tolerate the same way she did. learning orchids story ties more into her name, orchids are hard to keep alive but if done right they bloom with vibrant colors
then we have Emma to add tension Emma had always been smart, near perfect memory straight a’s straight faced student. when she graduated at the age of 16 everyone was proud but Emma doesnt really care. to advance in medicine studies she works at roxi’s fathers laboratory where she was mutated with a chemical that made her smarter on,y at the cost of locking her emotions inside of her head. she feels everything the pain behind words and physical pain as well but is perceived as a cold unfeeling sociopath. it drives her crazy from the inside but she seems to professional to say everything. Emma lost everyone who cared and knew about her being locked in her head to the zombie chemical. sometimes Emma wonders if she were a zombie if she would still have to keep her feelings locked away. the most painful aspect if Emma was that she could have figured out the antidote and what was going on instantly but since the apocalypse was a purposeful action and attempt at more power roxi’s father made her drink poisoned water that made her forget the last few weeks in chemical development just so she couldn’t figure anything out while she still had the resources. Emma’s brain was powerful enough to figure out the apocolpyse in seconds however she does have weaknesses. Because of how much data Emma takes in when she enters a room (she anylzes everything from temperature to decibel level to how bright the lights are and the exact compositions of everything,) she is extremely sensitive to sensory input because of this. When Emma gets over stimulated she can’t express her feelings instead she drops to her knees covering her ears and closing her eyes and data dumping every piece of input she took in through her mouth. She speaks at around 300 words per minute blending together the words as her brain tries to delete the new information to handle the new sensory input and the. we have forest Emma’s polar opposite! Forest was actually born as a girl in this homophobic society, however because he already had anxiety before the mutation the thought of being a girl with all the bad things that could happen only to girls and not men ran his heart at hyper speed 24/7 forest not only had to carry the burden of fear with him everywhere but his younger sister Florence was bullied for being to loud and too weird. After forest spent practically his whole childhood trying to speak up for her while also being terrified of what wasnt happening all of the time. Florence eventually fixed her problem by streaming her life for a living where she gained a pretty large following. Forest, although now he had a massive weight off his chest still feared for his life about everything that could happen especially because he was alone and was too skinny to fight off anyone. One day somehow Dr Dawson had heard that forest could die just because he was a girl so he offered him a deal that could turn him into a biological man but he would have to work for Dr Dawson as long as he lives and never tell anyone about what he had done for him. Forest agreed to the deal and worked in the safety department and told no one about the secret deal. Although he had gotten everything he wanted, his natural anxiety and fear he would get exposed took over. One day when he got injected with the enhancement chemical which enhanced his natural empathy and worry into having a power that could temporarily boosts one’s mood but at a cost, his heart got physically damaged everytime he heard something that made him emotional. Although is power could be useful, the depressed survivors wear masks tk big for forest to protect and even if he could get through them he would face so much heart damage from hearing there despair he could die. Forest just weeks before the emerald chemical was invented had found on one of Florence’s streams in the backround was Dr Dawson talking about some of the illegal testing and the reality of the “safety department” being first hand human testing, her channel was taken down and Dr Dawson got out of the charges using his money, he forced Florence to drink a chemical that shut her vocal cords, making her unable to speak.
