Idk why I'm doing so much poetry these days but whatever. If I get to addicted to doing it I’ll just do it on @Rockheart9 or @Misted_Skies- No judgement I'm only good at haiku. It’s supposed to be about some tree being an old person and doing the “back in my day” but it’s a tree sooo….. I can feel every leaf Separate Fall The soft, Unperceptual to many Thud Of it hitting the ground I spoke to the wind Secrets we shared Memories too Gossiped about the seasons And about how The thing-some-call-HurricaneKatrina Had winds that reached even here There were markings Carved into me By those who have long since Forgotten But meant something then But no longer To anyone But me Some would come and climb My close together branches Were strong And closely knit Some would fall And I could do nothing They moved too fast A flash Then the ground They say, Those-who-move-on-their-roots That a 4-season is Long But to me One blends to another To another To another There was A strange kind, once They dug under me Made a hole-to-sleep-in It doesn’t make sense Why sleep in a hole when you Could be under the moon? Others have used that hole But it has since Gone Slowly Bit by bit Sometimes two would come And sit by my roots Lean against My ever-sturdy trunk And speak In their loud, Ever-so-simple Language Sometimes I hear the other-of-my-kind Singing their song Softly In the unknown-places Where my roots do not touch But for me It is only me Steady, Constant Where everything else Fades My what-the-other-call-“bushes” Can be companions At times But they fade Like everything else The one-leaf-kind Fade faster But they are Good messengers Can talk fast Speak to the wind For me Before it leaves Again Everything fades Around me From color-of-my-leaves To color-of-my-bark They wilt And fade Gone Just me Only I stay
