The Lore of Number 77 and The Midnight ExpressDeep within the misty valleys of Sodor, a forgotten branch line holds the secret of two extraordinary engines that operate outside the normal schedules of Sir Topham Hatt's railway.Thomas 'The Timetwister' (Engine No. 77)The Blue Engine: Painted in a familiar blue but sporting the mysterious number 77, this locomotive is equipped with experimental chronological gear. The Pocket Watches: The golden clocks mounted on his running board are not for decoration. They are synchronized with the universal timeline, allowing him to perceive temporal anomalies. The Role: Known as the Watchkeeper of the Rails, No. 77 is tasked with ensuring that standard engines do not accidentally slip into "The Void"—a parallel dimension where time stands still. He is energetic, constantly checking his gauges, and highly protective of his fellow trains. The Midnight Tram (The Black Locomotive)The Dark Engine: This sleek, black steam tram with crimson wheels and an enclosed cab serves a completely different purpose. The Golden Compass: Mounted on its front is a glowing golden compass indicator instead of a standard lamp. It does not navigate by tracks, but by destiny. The Role: Operating strictly after midnight under confetti-filled starlight skies, this engine guides lost spirits and forgotten cargo to their final destinations. It speaks in quiet whispers, moving silently across the rails without making a sound, acting as the calm, stoic counterpart to the frantic energy of No. 77.Their Shared MissionWhenever the clocks strike thirteen, a rift opens in the sky, scattering colorful confetti across the tracks. This confetti is actually fragments of shattered timelines. Together, No. 77 uses his clocks to freeze the rift in place while the Midnight Tram uses its compass to navigate through the debris, clearing the line so morning commuters can travel safely without ever knowing how close they came to disappearing into history.
