SWGOH has decided that after they somewhat did well last era, they need to increase their revenue, which everyone knows means units that people actually like. Here is an overview of this new era, and a shallow dive into each character! First off, there is three legends characters in this, two concepts art characters, one character from Visions (visions is in an alternate universe from both Legends and Canon), and also one character that has been canon forever. The three legends characters are Mara Jade Skywalker (From most Star Wars legends novels following ROTJ), Yoda (Dark Side Vision) (This appeared in a legends novel before making its way into the Clone Wars TV show), and also Jaxxon (From the Marvel comic series back in the 80s!) The two concept art characters are Starkiller (Luke Concept) and Stormtrooper (Concept). These come from Ralph McQuarrie's Episode IV concept arts. And then we have our final two characters! Ronin is from both Visions and also his own spinoff coming sometime soon (I don't remember the date), and Darth Jar Jar... has always been canon, and you cannot dare to even try to change this fact! Now it's time to showcase all seven of these units (mostly their synergies). First off, we have Mara Jade Skywalker. After her husband got dropped off GL Luke's team, he needed to be lifted. And now we have a marquee for it! Her second special ability is the Last Command, which is a reference in my opinion to the third book of the Thrawn Trilogy (read that if you haven't). Next, we have Yoda (Dark Side Vision), who is basically the opposite of GMY. The page for his kit reveal is currently wonky, so all I really got was that he will work on Darth Jar Jar's team. He's also from two things, both the clone wars show and the novel Yoda: Dark Rendezvous. Now we have Starkiller (Luke Concept). He will be replacing a character on CLS' squad, as a homage to him being an alternate version of the same character. His kit looks really fun, and I love the name of his Basic, Laser-Sword Strike. We now have the alternate to a stormtrooper... Stormtrooper (Concept)! He is the long overdue lifter for the great Imperial Troopers, replacing most likely Moff Gideon so he can go on DTMG instead. The great Jaxxon is also making his way to the holotables, fresh off being a star in Rebuild the Galaxy! He has no New Republic or Rebel synergy, which surprises me, and instead he fits alongside the leftover scoundrels and smugglers. Ronin's kit bothers me the most, as he is a Dark Side Sith. From what I've seen, he should be a Light Side UFU! But anyway, both him and Yoda (Dark Side Vision) are on Darth Jar Jar's team, alongside two other of the Jar Jar's pawns in his pursuit for galactic dominance! Finally, we have the GOAT, the true Emperor, the strongest Sith lord to ever live... Darth Jar Jar! Along with the Ronin and Yoda (Dark Side Vision), he also has his two main pawns on his team: Sidious and Darth Maul! Anyway, that is all for now.
