hi ciao 你好 I’m Sasha / Ao and I go by she/her pronouns :) 「Please give us a short introduction, including how long you’ve been a member of the studio, your time zone, and your age or age range.」 I’ve been part of DBD since around the time GWDFI shut down/a year ago, because Hann invited me to be a manager. I stepped down because I found I wasn’t being as active as I’d wanted to be and thought the studio deserved active moderators. I use EST but have a very flexible sleep schedule for summer, meaning I might be awake until three AM or laying in one spot not touching anything but halfway awake until 12 PM. I don’t feel comfortable sharing my age on this site, but I’m a teen/in 13-17 age range. 「(Optional) Do you have any experience managing communities or similar roles?」 I don’t have a moderation role in anything currently. I have a minor staff role in a roleplay and I’m a Girl Scout but that’s about it. 「Why do you want to become a manager for Different By Design?」 I want to chat with the people in DBD more often and learn how to manage my time better. I haven’t connected with people there as much as I’d have liked, but as a manager I would be spending more time there as a result. I also want to help out the team; I would think it gets pretty stressful, but I can usually beat down stress by listening to music. So A. interact with people and B. help the managing team out. 「What do you think being a manager would involve?」 Being active and being able to piece together information and apply logic to a situation in order to smooth it out. Communication especially, as a manager needs to be able to communicate to studio members what is going on and speak with the rest of the moderating team to come to an agreement on things. 「Why do you think you’d make a good manager?」 I dunno man, I wanna help out but I can’t promise my help will be the best or that I’ll always know what to do. Comes down to if you trust me, anything I say here is a promise I’m not sure I can follow through. Because one thing is true in one scenario doesn’t mean it will fit all. 「Are there any downsides or weaknesses you think you’d have as a manager?」 Knowing myself, I’m a forgetful and generally quiet/not very confrontational person irl. In the past I also passed aside moderation responsibilities so I could focus on other tasks. The things you’d have to worry about with me would be my not being around as much as I want to be/am expected to be, and being unsure how to handle drama or touchy subjects. I generally avoid problems as much as possible. 「What are some ideas you have for improving the studio?」 Friendly competitions and contests and raffles and things. “Enter a raffle and winner gets to pick a game to be held” for example, one we managers and the person could put together and host. Contests to see who’s got the best memory. Age ratings needing to be stated beside any offsite media mentions/cutting down on those. Perhaps a warning system and not just the design delay; a lot of rule breaks are accidental and people may not understand they’ve broken a rule, so a gentle reminder/suspension system for continued breaks could be administered, similar to how roleplays have bans/suspensions. Established times for appreciation hour, introduction hour, maybe a sunshine hour, and a “new DBDer spotlight” so people have plenty of time to interact and speak with each other. That spotlight could be like an introduction, but it stays at the top of the studio desc for a period of time, be it day or week. I can also offer sunshine/advice booths- you want help with your art or your writing? I’ll give you my best advice! Feeling down? Share why if you feel comfy and I’ll figure out what I think happened and give you my best advice. 「What is your availability and activity level (ideally on a scale from 1–10)?」 Availability is probably like 8/10 over summer 4/10 during school(some things are changing this year however), activity-wise I’m like 3/10 in DBD currently (</3) but 9/10 I’m available I am on Scratch. Yikes does that make sense? Sorry </3
