okay ayui lore idea dump let me start with her friend group in her friend group she’s the therapist if they need anything they go to her and she helps them and it begins to feel like a chore like a job not like something she does out of care Merodi needs her help and while she’s helping Merodi over time they grow closer and she develops a crush she doesn’t tell Merodi because she doesn’t want to pressure her or put anything else on her mind, confiding in one of their friends instead this friend responds like “oh- date me and we’ll see how she reacts” or smth like that and she’s like “oh.. alright, that works” however that person is going to be progressively more possessive and revealed to be more malicious, intending to control Ayui Ayui’s hair is normally this reddish-orange color.. this friend has magic that allows her to alter the pigmentation of specific things in a way that defies logic and changes Ayui’s hair so the bottom two in inches are black like hers she says something like “there. You look a little more like mine now” except it’s one AM so not that later plot events happen and Ayui snaps realizing what’s going on as a nod to the OG draft there’s 100% going to be fire involved when she snaps and her magic is going to tweak a little then more plot events and then she’s dead but don’t worry she still gets plot beyond that I’m just writing Ayui lore first this time because I love her she’s amazing before she died she wanted to apologize to Merodi for ignoring her and not telling her how she felt and letting everything happen she felt like a fraud and like she betrayed Merodi and while it was too late she was desperate to fix it something else happened around this time and that’s when she died if she had survived she had plans to be an idol she rarely shared her emotions and wanted to spill them out singing and let everything leave she would also practice violin in her free time, and would tap rhythms on her arms and legs when waiting for something when she wasn’t singing she was playing she never played for anyone, it was something for her to get her thoughts together she wanted to make people happy and she wanted to be happy too, but in making others happy and doing things for them she forgot how to take time for herself and how to express herself she wore a mask and the mask became a part of her she couldn’t get rid of love you Ayui you’re amazing <3 for those curious after death her magic changed normally it allows her to like be sleeping and have an echo of herself go and do whatever was last on her mind (organize something, water plants, write down a thought) after death she is still somewhat tethered to the world; she instead uses her magic so that she can manifest in the world temporarily. She’s like that thing in the corner of your eye that vanishes when you look for it if she tries harder she can become corporeal for a short time but for all the effort she puts in, when she lets go of the magic she is knocked out by recoil and that mutated echo (permanently fixed to anger, confusion, and misery and undirected since she’s not thinking as a living being) can wreak havoc please separate Ayui from that echo (calling it Vae for now) I don’t like to see them as one complete entity since they. Aren’t. The entity is stuck on the past while she has continued to develop anyway there’s my 1 AM Ayui yaps I really like writing some of this on Pages it’s very fun honestly this is like a late birthday gift to myself <3 and on a Thursday the like best day
