Chapter Sixteen: Something Deeper ZELDA’S POV: I looked out the window and clicked my watch. '..- -.-. - .. --- -. (action)' I clicked into it. I looked at Ganon and smiled a bit. It was all going according to plan. "I'm sorry, but I have to use you as leverage so I'm sure to get my money. If he doesn't give me the money...well let's just say I'll be in for it. But I don't care. I don't get what I want, he doesn't get his lover," Ganon murmured. I sighed, 'I didn't tell Link it was a set up. He must be...no, he doesn't care about me, he wanted me gone from his life...right?' We drove on a dirt road for what felt like hours after the sun set. We arrived at an old building and Ganon stopped. He got out and walked around to grab me. I stumbled as he led me to what looked like an old abandoned temple structure. Ganon sighed and dragged me into a cellar. He tied me up and knelt in front of me. "You'll be free, tomorrow by-" Ganon was cut off and he fell forward. I scooted away as I saw knives in his back. "Zelda...You've come up in the world. The best of her class at the academy. But you're an FBI agent, why would you be involved in a simple money case?" My heart raced as I recognized the voice. No, not him. LINK'S POV: I started the car and drove, by the time I get to the location it'll be dawn. I was with the chief and a couple of FBI agents. We drove for hours and I could see the sun rising above the mountains. "Just wait a little longer Z," I whisper, driving faster. We arrived at an old temple and I saw Ganon's car. I grabbed my gun and we quietly exited the car. The two FBI agents went around the back and the Chief and I walked around and found a cellar. We walked in and I hear a voice I did not recognize. "You sure are fast, Agent!" it laughed. We turned the corner and I saw Zelda, her hands were tied and I saw a man with a cloak over his head. Zelda dodged his blow and jumped in the air. She then head butted him hard and he stumbled. She landed on the ground and was ready for anything. "FBI! Freeze!" the FBI agents screamed. "Hyrule police, hands up!" Chief screamed. "Get away from the girl!" I yelled, pointing my gun at the stranger. He turned and smoke bombs exploded. The FBI ran into the smoke and I went to check on Zelda. I reached her and she had a small bump forming on her head. She smiled and I saw Ganon's body. "O-oh! I see they weren't on the same team," I stuttered as the Chief called the coroner. I untied her and she hugged me. My face went red. "Thanks," she whispered as I saw lacerations on her arms. "A-are you okay?! Did Ganon do that?" I asked. Zelda shook her head and whispered, "It was...the man." I nodded and took off my jacket. I gently slipped it over her shoulders and we went to the car. "Take her home Link, we've got this," the Chief nodded. I nodded and we started the long drive home. "Sorry you had to go through that," I sighed, glancing at Zelda. "It's fine, we staged the Ganon part...just not the other guy," she replied. I nodded and gently grabbed her hand. "You know, you're still free to live at my place. Only if you want too!" I stuttered, blushing a bit. Zelda laughed a bit and nodded, "Sounds great, thanks." I nodded. "By the way...did you know who that man was?" I asked. Zelda was quiet for a while then said, "No, I didn't get a good look at his face." I nodded, gently tracing the ring still on her finger. CHAPTER SEVENTEEN COMING SOON!!
