"come on!" oleanderpaw called, her voice light and mischievous. the dark, rosy-furred cat trotted through the flower field a little of a ways ahead, glancing back every so often to make sure sunny was still following her. she was. she always would. suncupdance would follow her sister everywhere-- she loved ollie with all her heart, yet for some reason a deep ache settled in her chest. she wasn't quite sure why-- her sister was right here, and everything was alright. ...wasn't it? darkness flickered at the edge of her vision. the entire meadow seemed to shudder beneath her paws. storm clouds gathered on the horizon, looming. the sun vanished. fear's sharp claws closed around suncupdance's heart, and she froze, hackles raising. yet ollie kept going. she laughed, or perhaps it was more of a giggle, a bright carefree sound that echoed across the field, bouncing through the air, until sunny could feel it, rattling in her head. "ollie!" she cried. "slow down, please! wait for me!" sunny ran towards her sister, paws catching in the grass, feeling like it was snaking around her legs and trapping her, slowing her down. the harder she tried, the slower she moved. "please!" sunny's voice cracked, a rare show of weakness from the bright feline. "you're leaving me behind!" but oleanderpaw never looked back. her familiar form only grew smaller and smaller with every passing second. and the darkness only crept closer. it crept around her paws, climbed up her legs, wrapped itself around her tail, her chest, her throat. slow. methodical. inescapable. oleanderpaw disappeared without a sound. a single blink, like a star winking out of existence. and sunny was left behind, struggling, unable to escape the shadows, unable to move, unable to reach her sister. all that remained was the sound of ollie's laughter, still reverberating around her head like a broken record, over and over and over again. -- part 2: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1364346041/
