Abyss - They/Them - Cat - Backstory - The sunlight on the surface did not feel warm on their back; it burned. Abyss pressed their dark blue paws against the scorching sand, missing the crushing, icy comfort of the deep ocean. Only hours ago, a violent storm had caught them, dragging them up from the black waters where they lived. Now, they were stranded. A loud crunch echoed nearby. A human was walking down the beach, kicking up sand. Panic surged through Abyss. Instinctively, they flattened their body, pulling the dark blue hues of their fur tight. With a soft ripple, they dissolved completely into a cool puddle of water beneath a large coastal rock.The human paused, staring at the strange, shimmering puddle that smelled distinctly of sea salt. After a moment, the human walked away, muttering about heat tricks. Abyss pooled back together, their bright blue eyes blinking into the harsh light. The surface world was loud, bright, and terrifying- but as they stared out at the crashing waves, they knew they had to find a way back down to the dark. - I might continue this ^^
