Space for next Cha. “Find your cha cha in the all new Rebel Cha.” That was the catch phrase for Rebel’s Cha. Introduced in 1985, the Cha was initially sold in third world countries in Africa and in South America as a part of Rebel’s shift away from solely domestic sales. In 1987, it was introduced to the European market in Germany, Spain, France, and Poland all of which had no dealer network before the Cha. The European expansion ultimately failed, Rebel got rid of all European presence by 1992. The Cha sold well in the third world markets, known for being cheap, simple to work on and fairly reliable. The first generation Cha was discontinued in 1996, preparing for the second generation. The Cha was also sold in the U.S. from 1985 to 1991 as it sold fairly well. The Cha Cha was introduced in 1987 alongside the Marta Sport. It was for European countries only and was discontinued when dealer networks in Europe ceased operations.
