The refresh of ACEMOTORS Stjärnbild | Svenska- Constellation Stjärnbild was founded in 1956 when it was realised that car manufacturing would be highly profitable after 1945, but the company found itself unable to compete with other Swedish companies like Saab and Volvo, so it took a different approach, creating affordable, interesting cars for enthusiasts. The reaction in Sweden of the first car to follow that philosophy in 1966 was so positive that 2 more factories in Sweden were built, and in the following year it expanded to other European markets. Business was smooth and customers were satisfied for decades to come, but when the 2008 recession hit, the company had no response, releasing more economical models in panic. However, the company had no suitable technology for such cars, while customers backed away and fans lost touch with the company. This led to the sale of the company's beloved performance division, Velocity, in the same year. The company went quiet until 2023, when the independent VGOC purchased 35% of the company, and in 2025, an announcement to return to the company's roots was announced.
