hi hi! this week is all about how to spot an AI artwork that someone claims to be their own. --- first off, im gonna lay the ground straight now. I. HATE. AI. have yall not seen the amount of water from one prompt only? not to mention the facilities are lwk hurting the enviroment from greenhouse gases. ozone layer? ai thinks not. storytime before we go to the real advice (skip if you dont wanna hear a rant): i was looking at an entry for my dmc and saw an AI artwork. i didnt want to jump to conclusions and dug deeper. they gave me a "sketch" but it was a rough outline and missed all the important details about a real sketch. obviously for privacy im not saying the user, but i really dont want anyone ending up like them OK REAL ADVICE EEHEHEHE gen AI will always spill. if you see something thats potentially AI ask the for: - a picture of the sketch (to ensure it is real, see if its just a rough outline or isnt just what normal artists would do - a picture of the layers. this is a gemstone when it comes to detecting, however, people in the past have created their own AI layer pictures. you can tell if there are unnessessary layers (like a text layer when there is no text) - look inside the project- look at the sprite name and the costume name. its a little bonus in case they forgot to change it. if they have a real issued name, you can forget it. if it has like a chatgpt name (the file name is DALL-E) its ai. if none of these are provided to you, and you still detect its AI, take a deep dive! dont just assume one way or the other. AI images usually include: - missing/extra limbs (not common- ai is getting smarter AIBFIHE:BHLCBQWED) - contains random details that arent relevant - misplaced things (like 2 aglets, one in the middle and one on the right) - the text that AI generates are usually gibberish or arent real english (ask the creator if they are multilingual too!) - and a bunch more stuff that make the image feel "too perfect" thats all the advice i can give to you for now- if youre hosting an art contest and encounter what I recently did- dont disqualify them right away! find the missing details and prove yourself. ok byee - fire
